Reservation was made several months ago and a note was added that one member was coeliac so required gluten free pita breads. A further conversation was had with the restaurant a week before booking where again this was confirmed. On arrival when ordering was told no gluten free pita breads. I said I would go and get some from a nearby supermarket as there were no other carbohydrate options as neither the rice or chips were. The waitress was unable to advise why the rice was not suitable. I was told that I could not get my own. At this point some gluten free bread was found and arrived with my meal. It had been toasted but was stale, dry and clearly freezer burnt. No apologies. The rest of the meal was fine. My gluten free diet is not through choice but necessity. I gave sufficient notice and yet was still failed.

We ate early so place was quiet on arrival but ambience improved as people arrived. We had the meat feast meze which was absolutely delicious. There was lots of it but we managed it all surprisingly. All the food was top quality, tender, authentic and cooked to perfection. Staff were friendly and attentive. Only criticism was that the restaurant has two doors and everybody came into ‘our’ side when the bookings list was the other. It was raining and they had to trapse back out. Maybe clearer signage? Will be going back.

We are repeat customers who love Greek food and Jars Meze is a firm favourite. My husband’s choice is always Stifado and his meal was excellent. Mine was chicken Giovanni which was very tasty. We also enjoyed a delicious freshly made Greek salad. The service was efficient and friendly.

We chose the vegetarian feast which we considered over priced for the food we received. Spinach slice, butter beans in a tomato sauce, garlic mushrooms, vegetable stew and humous didn't seem good value at £52.90

Was very pleased that we were advised that we didn’t need an extra side of chips with our meat platter. The food was delivered quickly and was totally delicious. Love the cosy location tucked down a side pedestrian street and enjoyed eating outdoors.

I love Jars Mezze. Every time we come to Bath (we live in Cornwall) we make a beeline for Jars. The food is fabulous and there is such a lovely vibe. I'm veggie and gluten free and there's such a choice. That's not often the case for my kind of diet, but I'm safe at Jars. Your Gigantes are sublime! I've brought quite a few of my friends to you and they've loved it too.

We first visited on a previous trip to Bath and were very impressed with great food, slick service, nice table on 1st floor and good value. An enjoyable event. So a return trip to Bath we decided to return Unfortunately second time round we were left underwhelmed and disappointed. We had prebooked but the restaurant was clearly very busy and turnaround between courses very slow with an hours wait between finishing starters and main courses being served. Complimentary bowl of olives supplied to bridge the gap with apologies for the wait but would have preferred to have foregone the olives and eaten as planned. We weren’t alone with a number of other tables also impacted. Appreciate things don’t always go to plan but it was a disappointing outcome to the evening. Food when it arrived was fine although portion sizes seemed a little smaller and prices, as everywhere higher.

Food we had as a starter was excellent but having waited over an hour for our main course, we left. We had asked twice for an update on the food arrival and was assured it would be soon, but as we had a train to catch we left. The couple sat behind us left at the same time for the same reason. The restaurant was very busy but clearly the kitchen can't cope. The waitress was lovely and tried really hard but was let down by the kitchen. We paid for our starters and a bottle of wine and left. We were at the restaurant for nearly 2 hours and all they managed to serve was 3 meze plates as a starter and a bottle of wine. It spoilt a birthday evening and we will not return.
