   We always love Jake's and this visit was even more enjoyable than past visits. Our waitress immediately apologized that we had to wait to be seated and for her to come to our table, that they had 10 people out sick. We appreciated knowing this, it allowed us to relax and not wonder about timing of things, and still she and the rest of the staff worked hard to take care of us and did a great job. The opening martini was superb, along with a glass of the featured Cabernet Sauvignon. Their bread is always delicious. Oyster appetizer and Caesar salad were delicious. Both the trout dish and the horseradish encrusted salmon dish were outstanding. We love the vibe, atmosphere and professional staff here and this night proved how these pros were able to handle a difficult situation in addition to being friendly and kind. We really appreciate a place where the staff acts happy to be working there. We will return often.

   Jake’s overall experience has declined since McCormick & Schmick sold it. A reliably predictable menu, professional looking wait & bus staff and reception, though this time I did encounter a grouchy woman server. It was extremely crowded and there is no “lobby” or waiting area-too cool and rainy to wait outdoors, bar was SOR. The food was tasty tho not hot save for the bread (perfect!). I’ll patronize this place again and expect better during a non Winter Holidays season.

   Exceptional!! Steve was amazing. Great service and menu recommendations. Oysters were on point and all food arrived in a timely manner and hot from the kitchen. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend for anything from intimate dinner for two to groups and even large parties.

   Really delicious: horseradish crusted steelhead; pan-fried oysters, cod sandwich, and salmon fetticinne. The crab and shrimp louie was good but not as good as Salty's; meh tomatoes, no avocado. Jake's was the busiest I have seen in a long time and am happy for you that diners are back. Our server had a big table as well as several smaller parties and did well. The hostess was a bit grim; hope their life gets better.

   Always an excellent choice for special celebrations, Jake's did not disappoint. They were exceptionally busy and might not have had the full contingency of service people being two days after Christmas, but everyone was obviously working hard to make the evening wonderful as usual. Fabulous specials! Thank you, Jake's, for making our annual holiday dinner with friends the best.

   Timing: There was 30+ minute wait for a confirmed reservation. It appeared everyone with a 6:15pm reservation waited at least 1/2 hour to be seated with nowhere to wait, standing room only in the bar and the entrance. People with later reservations were being told the same thing as we left. Overbooked all night? Service: Waitress mistakenly listed my husband’s order for crab/shrimp cakes as an appetizer instead of as a main although she did order him the clam chowder appetizer too. Then she argued she was right. It took 10+ minutes for the head waiter to sort out plus another 10+ minutes for the head waiter to return with the chowder and my salad. Main dishes arrived 5 minutes after that so timing the courses was off too. Food: Jake’s House Salad (greens, bleu cheese, candied walnuts) arrived without walnuts - waitress “I guess they ran out.” It’s their signature salad early in the evening for heaven’s sake! Shrimp Étouffée had a few chunks of chicken, 3 tiny bay shrimp, 1 slice andouille in a bland gluey sauce. The shrimp/crab cakes were also bland with no detectable piece of shrimp or crab. Overall: We’d loved this place over the years and it was a holiday so I expected to give them some leeway. However, no indication of fresh fish (or fresh sheet) and marginal food at an expensive seafood restaurant makes it appear they’re past their prime. We sadly will not return or recommend them.

   6:15 res. Upon arrival told to wait in bar as it would be a 30 min delay. Very uncomfortable standing 30 min trying to stay out of people’s way with our party of 5. At 35 min mark they come to find another party to seat them and I ask what time was their res, 6:45 (waited 5 min), party size 6. Asked host why they were being seated before our 6:15 res and the reply was the party size. We had 5 and they 6, same size table, right? No apologies, quite smug in fact. 10 more minutes and seated.

    Our family loves Jake's for Christmas dinner each and every year. It's a tradition we will hold as long as we're still here. Beautiful, fresh food and a wonderful server. Thank you for this culinary experience.
