Jack Stack Barbecue originated in Kansas City in 1957, by Russ Fiorella in a traditional storefront barbecue, with a modest selection of 5 or 6 items. Jack Fiorella, the eldest son, worked with his father until 1974 when he decided to branch off and start Fiorella's Jack Stack of Martin City.

To stand out in the competitive KC barbecue scene of the mid 1970's, Jack and Delores, began cooking with Gourmet Hickory Wood and created the most extensive barbecue menu in the country. The menu included Certified Angus Beef steaks, tender chicken, award-winning lamb ribs, and mouth-watering sides like Hickory Pit Beans and Cheesy Corn Bake.

It was our first time. We absolutely loved it. Our waitress was the best, she explained everything on the menu and she was very kind.

DO NOT bother ordering the lamb rib dinner (“full” slab). Inflation has officially affected Jack Stack. I effectively received a 1/2 slab for the dinner/full slab price of $30. Unbelievable! I’ve been eating this meal for YEARS, and this experience was particularly pitiful. Fries were old (even though I asked for fresh ones), and the ribs were puny…not even 9 bones, much less very much meat. I was shocked. I never expected to have a dining experience like that at any Jack Stack, particularly when I tip 20-25%. Just wow, in the worst way!😤 I wish I would’ve taken a pic. For shame.

We always have great food here. Was pretty noisy since it was a holiday and many kids with big groups. Server was efficient but not super friendly.

Bad experience today! Our plates came with the orders switched, had to move the food to each other's plate. My husband asked for no sauce on his sandwich yet he received it with sauce. Server and staff very nice.

GREAT SERVICE and SUPER FOOD! We had the onion ring appetizer and they were very good/ All our entrees were super. My glass was refilled before I noticed it was low.
