   Party of 6 had an 8:15 reservation on Friday night. We got seated at 9:05pm and weren’t glanced at - let alone offered any sort of apology - by the restaurant’s manager. Most restaurants - especially in the Vandelay Group - do a phenomenal job handling situations like that with friendly greetings / updates and a maybe a comp or two when delays get really bad, but Jack & Harry’s offered the bare minimum in the way of apologies (outside our fantastic waiter) and didn’t offer anything unprompted despite the 50+ minute error. First and likely last trip for us.

   We made a reservation at 8pm on a Saturday several weeks before and had to wait at the bar for an hour before our table was ready. When we checked in we were told they were running a little bit behind and our table would be ready shortly. That should not mean the table would be ready in an hour. Once we were seated the staff was great and the food was very good but my feet were killing me after standing for an hour in heels not intended for that.

   Ordered the lunch special muffuletta sandwich. Asked the server prior to ordering if it was a traditional muffuletta and the answer was yes.  it was nowhere close to the traditional sandwich. They served it on thin toast. Very disappointing. Gumbo also wasn’t traditional. Very thick and too much saffron! Bbq shrimp was good but again had too much saffron in the sauce! Disappointed overall with the food!

   My wife, son, grandmother, and I had an AMAZING dinner at Jack and Harry's this past Sunday! The ambiance was straight out of the Big Easy's best chophouses and our service was top-notch. I am still raving about the food the day after dinner — the dry-aged Delmonaco steak that our server Thomas recommended was phenomenal and my wife and grandmother thoroughly loved their recommended fish dishes. The Parisian fries were incredible and my wife and grandmother could not stop talking about the freshness of the oysters. The drinks were superb and the vibes in the restaurant were immaculate (though it was a tad loud but I expected as much at such a packed restaurant on a Sunday night!). I also have to give a big thanks to Thomas, as well! He was attentive, informative, and kind throughout our meal, even when juggling a packed house. His knowledge of the menu was encyclopedic and, when the kitchen ran out of items we were ordering (a good problem to have for a restaurant on a Sunday night), Thomas was quick to recommend his favorite items on the menu. I highly recommend anyone in or visiting Dallas give Jack and Harry's a try. You will not be disappointed, and will likely be going back again very soon, like myself. Make sure you ask for Thomas.
