Iris is named for the celebrated Mediterranean flower, and as a gentle nod to the “Evil Eye”, a regional legend known to ward off evil and bring great luck. Located in an iconic building of Midtown Manhattan, Iris is a restaurant that aims to showcase the best preparations of the Eastern Mediterranean region. The ambition behind this culinary initiative is to focus on the style of eating rather than the provenance of each dish. Approachable, wholesome and minimally manipulated, the cuisine will show another facet of the ingredient-forward cuisine that has built John Fraser’s reputation.

    Staff was amazing and kind— fabulous with recommendations. She also excited us for the Broadway show we were about to see. Food was fabulous! Definitely need to get the octopus and the braised short rib. Cocktails were to die for, especially the “dawn of adonis.” You wont regret coming here!!

    Food was excellent but view of truck vendor out the front window wasn’t very special. Should put blinds on the front window to block that scene.

    It was a wonderful evening celebrating Christmas with my mother. Our server Melody was amazing and truly made the experience very special! The food was delicious and portion sizes were great! We also loved our cocktails!! Great night at Iris!

    Food and service were great. Unfortunately we got a table near the door on the coldest night of the year and it dampened our experience. Otherwise, we enjoyed the restaurant and recommend it.

    We enjoyed our dinner. Great vegetarian/vegan options. Excellent service. The noise level was a bit high, and it was a very cold night, and every time the door opened it let in cold air.
