A hidden jewel in the heart of Melbourne in Hardware Lane. It is where you can taste the true flavour of Sicilian dish!

Two of the signature dishes at this ristorante star seafood. The first is “Linguine al cartoccio” - a seafood pasta, wrapped in baking paper and oven-baked.

This is typical Sicilian recipe using all fresh seafood, cherry tomato, chili, and once it’s ready, removed from the oven, and serve it to the guest who can then eat the steaming pasta inside.” The second signature dish at Il Nostro Posto is the “Guazzetto in Crosta”. It is a seafood stew, cooked with fresh seafood and covered with pizza dough, oven baked until it becomes a delicious seafood pie.

The food are extremely overpriced!!!! Ordered the linguine marinara, served with three mussels that have the tiniest meat I have ever seen and the some frozen small shrimps that you can buy from woolies in pack. This dish costs 34 or 36 dollars??? Seriously, you guys can do better. No wonder there is no people coming to eat on a Saturday night.

When I came here the first time, the food was AMAZING. The second time, the menu had changed and with that, so did the quality.

Really delicious, handmade pasta and awesome wine menu which actually tells you the aroma and flavours in the wine before you buy it. Service was lovely and the down stairs seating area was really lovely with original bluestone walls. Definitely recommend of your looking for delicious Italian/Sicilian pasta.

Gave away our table, said rudely because we were late 5 mins, however I had called prior to booking time and advised we would be 5 mins late. Ordered an entree and 2 mains. Entree came out with one of mains. Main was left on table and we had to awkwardly sit there with it while we shared our entree. Other main came out 10 mins later. Pastas ordered lacked ingredients and flavour, over priced. Would not return and would eat at the restaurant next door any day over this

Great atmosphere and terrific service. Food was great we (family of 4) we had arancini and the antipasto platter for starters, pasta dish and pizza which all tasted great and of high standard.
