Ida Claire is a funky, southern influenced restaurant & bar open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food is notched up southern but has influences from different regions. You’ll most likely see dishes you’ve heard of before but with little twists here and there.

Our sandwiches will be served on biscuits & we’ll have chicken & waffles on every menu. Brunch is obviously southern & will be a big part of what we do. The drinks are takes on classics like the Mint Julep but revved up & including a lot of house made ingredients.

Valentines special was so overrated. I wish we would’ve stuck with the regular menu. The drinks weren’t that great either, & they ran out of some things to make what I wanted. Overpriced for what it was.

It was Valentine’s Day so we knew service was going to be stretched. Our drinks took the longest. At one time, a manager filled our water glasses and left with our water bottle, presumably to refill it, but she never brought it back. Some of my Brussels sprouts were cold and the fried chicken, while crispy, was dry. My wife LOVED her monte cristo. Our waiter, Zach, was great, but stretched thin. We’ve had better visits. We’ve also been when the grill wasn’t working. So we’ve had visits that were much worse. We enjoyed our cocktails and enjoyed being there with each other. We WILL go back for the seasonal menu and great atmosphere.

We were looking forward to trying the food here and may be just wasn’t a good time since it was a holiday. The appetizer was decent, except for the cold Nashville Cauliflower and the ”bottom of the bag” crushed chips, please serve whole chips if possible. The “Ida Fried chicken w/sweet potato fries was too greasy and had absolutely no flavor, but it was hot and cooked, even the fries were super greasy. Also tried the burger which wasn’t too bad, but still didn’t have best taste to it. Food had no flavor, but looked good before biting into it. They were nice enough to take the chicken off the bill, but still the meal wasn’t worth what we paid. We will give it another shot for breakfast or brunch possibly, but dinner wasn’t it.

The restaurant has a nice vibe, but that is the best thing about it. It took a very long time to get our meal. The outside seating was closed because of the weather, so I can only imagine how much longer it would have taken if the kitchen staff had to serve a full capacity crowd. Our server was very nice though. She kept checking in to apologize for the wait. My husband had fried chicken and he thought it was very good. I tasted it and thought it was pretty good. I had a half poor boy and gumbo. The sandwich was tasty, but the gumbo was quite cold and had a really glue-lie texture. I don't think we will be going again. It wasn't bad, I just have other restaurants that I prefer.

We made breakfast reservations at 10:45 AM but did not get seated until 11:15 AM and then were told that we could no longer order breakfast. I ordered fried oysters but they were so spicy that they were not edible. The fried green tomatoes were bland and had too much breading. My wife ordered a crabcake but it was too fishy tasting. The coffee and pecan pie were good but not outstanding. Our server was excellent and attentive. We plan to go again to try breakfast but I would not recommend having lunch there.
