   We were seated with a great view and provided some Prosecco as a part of the experience. Nicholas was very helpful with the menu and recommendations.

   I remember the restaurant being fun and lively. Our food was delayed and mediocre, ambiance was dull. Worst meal of the trip and unfortunately the most expensive. Matteo’s Osteria was very good, but Pilina Maui was my kids favorite food and ambiance.

   This was the best part of celebrating my daughters birthday! The restaurant was so beautiful with a fantastic view of the sunset, I did have to spend extra money for the table we got seated at and I’m not sure I would recommend doing it for anyone else because it seems all the views are great! The service was fantastic and the bar was super cool. There was a big party outside on the lawn so having the view of the sunset was not as beautiful in pictures considering the giant group of people in the photo. It is quite spendy but worth the experience!!

   Avoid the "tasting menu". Overly salted, heavy lobster bisque, though the fish sausage was unique. The scallop was well cooked, but the potato cake and truffle sauce were again quite heavy, lacking delicate texture and flavor to complement the scallop. The initial spices were too overpowering for the light Amberjack with the fish dish, and the marrow butter with the wagyu was a nice flavor, but a bit too greasy with the marbled wagyu and pancetta hash. The pineapple creme brulee for dessert sounded lovely, but in practice, the caramelized pineapple in the creme brulee caused it to be runny rather than hard set. The menu sounded fantastic, but the actual execution was lacking and not worth the money. Disappointing meal, despite great service and ambiance. Apps and coktails at the aquarium style bar would have been a better investment.

   We paid extra for a special table along the water facing the sunset and it was gorgeous! The food was delicious and the service was perfect. The sea bass was especially tasty.

   Very expensive for what you got. Sloppy wedge salad with 2 tiny pieces of the bacon and dressing was put on only 1 fourth of a sloppyly arranged that was falling apart. $26. Got the $46 scallop appetizer. Only 2 scallops and one was small and rubbery. They sat on a tiny sliver of potato something, fried on one side and no finish on bottom. When server came back did not ask us how things were but merely expressed how what we had was a favorite of theirs. Long wait to get food not busy. Suggest skipping the $16 bread. Nice building, lovely view, nice greeting when arriving. Maybe the best thing to do there is get a drink at the bar.

    The setting is nice although you have to pay a premium for the best view tables (!). The lagoon was under repair, so our view was primarily of exposed fake lava rocks. The food is OK, but not great, and the prices suggest the food should be great. The service was slow, and it took close to 45 minutes to get our main courses. It was an anniversary dinner for us, but at the end, the server wished me a happy birthday. Embarrassing!
