Hughes Hangar

Gastro Pub
Hughes Hangar serves gourmet comfort food and handcrafted specialty cocktails in a 1940s style environment. The airport-themed dining area is fun, classy and swanky all at once. This lounge-like restaurant transforms into a dance club after evening. Hughes Hangar is a great place to let loose and have some fun with friends while enjoying food and drink. Every Wednesday night is steak night, and diners can enjoy meals like a 14 oz ribeye cooked any way they like it with a side such as loaded mashed potatoes, baked potato or steamed veggies. The steak is served with house-made creamy mushroom dipping sauce. After the meal, guests can relax in Hughes Hangar's hookah lounge or get some fresh air on the large patio. And you can shake off some of the calories you ate on the dance floor too.

We went in at 7 on a Saturday for dinner and drinks and there was only one couple there. They chose to move the couple from the table they were at to seat is at the table because "every other table was reserved." However they could have just separated the two tables and set us with the other couple, as it was two tables put together. The service was slow for only having 6 people there. The bartender was throwing things at the waitress when she walked by our table. The food was good, but moving a couple WHO WERE ALREADY EATING was inappropriate, awkward and unacceptable to everyone in my party. Not to mention there were only about 30 people (none of which were sitting at a reserved table) when we left 90 minutes later.

Made the reservation as one stop on Valentine's day... when we arrived we were spoken to as if there was no reservation. Ended up at a table outside that was haphazardly setup. The place just gave off a sense of confusion and no one took authority of the situation. We stayed for a drink and left to find an better spot.

This is the place to be for Wednesday steak night. $15 for a 14-oz ribeye AND a fully loaded potato! The steak is cooked to a steak house quality with solid seared marks and not dried out. Myra the waitress was attentive and professional. I will definite return again and again!

First timers with another couple and we really enjoyed ourselves! The DJ for the night was absolutely on point for us. The music made it that much more enjoyable. The food was great! Had the Wednesday steak special(Awesome Deal!). Will be returning most definitely!

The character of this place changes radically after 10:00 pm. During "Prohibition Hour", which goes up to 8:00 pm, it's mainly the after-work crowd. After that, it begins to transition to the younger, late-night dance crowd.

This place was dead on a Friday night. That should have been the first clue. We were seated promptly, but were given the wrong menu - and only one to share at that. When the server came to take our order, she stared at us like the deer in the headlights, as we were ordering off the wrong menu. She finally realized what was going on and fetched the correct menu. Still only one copy. We both had the Steak Diane, which was tough and overcooked. Drinks were ok. Parking is expensive - $8. I will always tip the valet well, but did not this time around. We will not be going back.

While we booked for dinner, there really was no checkin or stand. We just seated ourselves. Got served fairly fast. Ended up just ordering appetizers to share. But the cheese has ham which was a no go for the veggie in the group. Drinks were very good, service for that was great. Split up the check and wasn't a complete success. Left as the dining and chatting area became a night club.

7 PM reservation and showed up to an empty restaurant. We were not checked in so I had to email Open Table so that it didn't appear as a no show. Server was terrible. A gastropub usually has a great beer, there were a few bottles. Ordered St. Arnold's only to find out none were cold. I ordered a cocktail which was nothing special. We shared the chicken bites which were decent and the truffle waffle fries which were probably frozen Ore Ida and barely warm. Dinner was okay. Waitress charged my card twice instead of splitting it between myself and a friend. Another waitress awkwardly asked to take our menus for another customer. We told them it was my husband's birthday nothing was offered. $8 valet for them to park 10 steps away.

Hughes Hanger is definitely a neighborhood gem. It's a great location. The atmosphere was wonderful, the service was prompt and attentive. The food was just so-so. Not a lot of variety and taste was average. The wine list was very limited and the drinks weren't very creative.
