   I really wanted to love my experience here as I reserved a dinner for my birthday with some friends, but unfortunately we had one of the worst service experiences to date. We had been sitting for almost 20 mins and our server had not been by to ask if any of our group wanted drinks (we did). Seeing as she was nowhere to be found, I got up to use the restroom. walked in to our server just standing by the sink playing on her phone. She continued to do this even throughout me using the restroom and washing my hands/leaving. There was no shame in it. We had to ask the bartender if we could order from him, at which point he tried to find our waitress, as he could not take drink orders for the entire table. There were at least 3 employees looking for her by the time she finally emerged (note this was probably 5 minutes after I myself had left the BR). Just left a really poor taste in our mouths after this experience. The food was good just sad about our service experience.

   I love this place but the portions are getting cut back. Ridiculous for the price. The lobster roll is $30 and they include a very small amount of lobster. My wife ordered the Beverley salad and there was maybe 3 small pieces of grilled shrimp. Come on Hudson House, do better. I don’t mind paying the price if I’m getting a fair serving. Houston as too many dining options to be pulling those bush league moves. That crap may fly in Dallas but it does work in Houston!

   My husband and I went to Hudson House for our anniversary and everything was incredible! We are excited to go back soon!

   Food was mostly good, son loved his filet, my chicken dish was dry; servers were well meaning but not very well trained; awkward wine service, several wrong orders were delivered (more like dropped quickly) to the table, took us a moment to figure out some dishes were wrong and flag someone down; usually followed by our lead server blaming the kitchen and the runners because she had punched the correct order in (just not professional).

   Our server was uninterested in us having a decent experience. Getting soft drinks and water seemed like a chore. The restaurant was not crowded yet we were between 2 booths that were so loud we could barely hear our own conversation. The fries were cold and other food just ok - though the burgers were still great! Second time service has been well below par. Sad to feel this way but there are too many other better options in Houston.

   We arrived for a reservation at 5:45pm and let our server, Steph, know that we had theater tickets and she made sure we were served, not rushed, and out in time to catch our Uber to the theater. The food was delicious and Steph was so nice which made the experience that much better!

   Honestly… it was just okay. Nothing stuck out in my mind enough to make me want to go back. Food was good and presentation was good. Service was a little sub-par. Looks like they were trying to copy Hillstone’s.

    Enrique was absolutely amazing today! I had the Hudson salad and my friend had the redfish and broccoli! Both meals were great!
