Second visit, a little quiet this time but then it was 7pm on a December Thursday. My wife has some dietary restrictions and the staff were really helpful explaining what the menu options contained. Would go again, maybe a little later in the evening.

We stopped in for dinner and live music. Upon arrival we joined a long line waiting to enter. Having traveled from out of town we booked a reservation and were not aware that there was a concert going on upstairs. The gentleman checking IDs asked us were there for dinner or the concert and immediately pointed us to the entrance. We had very good seats for the performers in the restaurant and enjoyed each performance. The only strange thing was that the concert went on in the performance hall above us. It was very energetic and at times caused the ceiling and attached speakers to bounce, but no one seemed alarm and we just took it in stride and enjoyed our experience. The ribs and turkey smash burger were excellent and our drinks were very good! Will visit again when we return. Great time!

Always enjoy HoB, but on this occasion the service was not good. We were seated immediately but no-one served us for 20min. Not good.

We had a 7pm reservation. 3 out of 4 in our group got our drinks. Our server was completely MIA. Starving, and after 52 minutes, I went to the host stand to ask for our check so we could leave and go elsewhere.

Staff was great and the main courses were good, but we had an issue with the dessert. The bread pudding was stone cold the first time it came out so we sent it back. The second time it come out of the kitchen, it was warmer, but still nowhere near hot. When we sent it back the third time, we told them to just switch to KeyLime Pie. The pie was good, but they also brought out the bread pudding a third time, and yep you guessed it.....still cold. After all of that they still charged us full price for the pie. Not wanting something for nothing, but it just seemed they weren't trying very hard. In fairness, as I stated, the entrées were good and we had no issues there, so it was just desert where wee had the issue. The manager did come over to speak with us and he was very apologetic, so I will at least say they at least acknowledged the issue.

We arrived quite early, an what annoyed me thoroughly was that despite the place being empty we were not allowed to be seated where we wanted to be. We were just a couple, so they would not seat us at a table with 4 chairs. Most tables in this venue have 4 chairs, leaving very few choices. And what really, REALLY annoyed me was that they then proceeded to seat several other groups of 2 in these tables with 4 chairs. I felt entirely disrespected! I will NEVER be back! I should have walked right then and there when I was being disrespected, but my wife wanted to hear some blues. To be fair, the musician really was excellent. But Chicago has lots of choices for blues and jazz, and you don't have to be a cog in their corporate machine. Just say NO! Go somewhere else where you are respected.
