   The food was good, not great. The new eggroll appetizer was very greasy. I ordered my burger without a bun and it was sitting in a pile of grease on the plate. Everyone else's food was fine. The cocktails were really good and even though the kitchen was backed up our server was on top of everything - kudos to him!

   Houlihan's is our favorite restaurant. Always good food and good service. It's also great that it's in our town of Holmdel!

   I went with some guests for a late lunch and I ordered prime rib. When it came out, I flipped it the opposite way because it looked like it was an end cut, and when I flipped it to the other side, it was horrible. Looking wasn’t even cooked was not a prime rib. I wouldn’t even feed it to my dog. so I ate the baked potato and the broccoli I did ask for a manager and the manager kept apologizing he said would make me another one. I said no thank you, and he took it off the bill . I truly appreciated that because like I said, I would not even feed that to my dog . This is the second time I’ve gone in there with asking for a prime rib and they were both horrible. I’m not paying $30 for something. I wouldn’t even feed to my dog . But once again, the manager did take care of it, and I truly appreciate it . Don’t order the prime rib !

   The booth smelled musty. It took forever for our nacho app ti come out. The fajitas barely had enough to make two and the prime rib dip was not supposed to have mayo and it was covered with it. Very disappointed

   It was our first time going. Nothing was bad but nothing awesome. We aren't drinkers so maybe it's you are coming with a group to have some drinks and get some casual food it would be your thing.

   I have not been at this Houlihan’s in over a year, food quality changed, bathrooms dirty, for years handicapped toilet door broken doesn’t lock and today the strike plate was totally destroyed. How can an elderly or handicapped person go on there without their privacy not being disturbed or embarrassed. I won’t be going back the rest of year and who knows even about next year. I have been going there for years three and four times a week as I said I haven’t been there in over a year and I don’t think I’ll be going back.

   Dinner entrees came out ok but everything was lukewarm. Service was fine. Manager came by to see if everything was to our liking but he was so nice that it’s hard to be critical.

   We decided to try this houlihans since the one in New Brunswick closed still have no idea why it closed? This houlihans in Holmdel is a 1/2 hr drive well don’t think we’ll be coming back the ride was long and the service wasn’t great !! Our favorite place was New Brunswick and the servers and managers were excellent such a shame it closed!

   Last night we noticed some new faces working as servers and some who appeared to be managers. We heard from friends that the New Brunswick location of Houlihan's closed and the buzz was that these new people were from that location which was doing poorly and closed last week. We love this place. We've been going there since they opened. We know the regular crowd and we are part of that group. We spend Thanksgiving and Christmas Day there. Regulars like us continued to support Houlihan's as a take-out business all through COVID. It's a neighborhood establishment and many of the employees live nearby. The employees bring their own families there to enjoy drinks and a meal. The regulars have supported Houlihan's of Holmdel because of the people who work there and supervise. The staff we've grown to know is accommodating, friendly and it's obvious they appreciate our business. The managers circulate and greet the customers giving the establishment a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Last night the atmosphere was different. It seemed apparent that change was occurring. I implore you not to replace the existing staff. This is a formula that works from the hosts who greet us at the door to the kitchen staff that prepares our meals. From the managers to the servers and bartending staff, the pieces fit so well together and should be left as is. Houlihan's of Holmdel is special. The community believes in supporting local businesses, a sentimment is expressed at Town Hall and Homeowners Association meetings. For us, Houlihan's of Holmdel is that one-of-a-kind place where we always feel at home. Thank you.
