We both had fish and chips. 3 generous fish filets but they had no flavor. Fries were greasy and dry appearing to have been warmed up in an oven. Water had a bad taste. We left disappointed.

We were expecting a more intimate dining experienced, but found that the atmosphere was more like a loud locker room for golfers. The service was so slow that the manager gave us free food as his way of saying sorry. The food was OK and we will probably return because the restaurant is so close to our house, but this is more of a casual eatery than a restaurant you would go for a special occasion..

We enjoyed our dinner at Highland House. My husband’s fish and chips were excellent. I ordered the steak frites dish and was generally happy with it. Next time I will order with the sauce on the side since it rather overpowered the steak. I would have liked a small salad to have been part of the steak meal. It needed it. We did find the restaurant to be quite noisy. (You are seated near a bar area). If you don’t mind that, you will enjoy Highland House.

Fish special was good price but way to much batter and soggy inside. Fish good flavor French fry’s seemed to be homemade and done well like we like them. Cobb salad was very good. House drinks are good and great price if you go on happy hour. Just lighten the batter. Would go back again. Good manager!

The services was great, the food was excellent, however the noise level was very high, uncomfortable high. We couldn’t hear each other at dinner, a table of four.

Have been there several times now. I got the french dip for the second time. Sandwich was once again excellent but the cup of "au jus" was much smaller this time and was not enough to last for the entire sandwich. This part was disappointing as the first time it was a good size container that lasted the whole sandwich. All else was good.

Let's face it: the old establishment run by the club/city was not great. What the Feinstein Group, which operates Dunedin restaurants The Black Pearl, The Living Room, and Sonder Social Club, has done is fantastic. The decor, a mix of Scottish and old Florida, the vibe, and the view of the 12th green, make this place a destination even if you don't golf. An automatic 20% service charge is added to your bill which provides better service as the staff is very attentive and friendly. I've had excellent steak frites, fish & chips, pork chop, and meatball sandwiches. They even have PBR on tap! They could offer more gluten-free entrees as that is much needed in the area. If you haven't been, make a reservation via OpenTable and try it yourself.
