The red wines are on the sweet side which can be expected as all the grapes are grown in New Mexico. Honestly, I don’t write reviews often. And usually for great experiences. But this was exceptionally bad. The mussels were large, overcooked and tasteless. We couldn’t eat them. I had the club sandwich and the bacon was old and most likely leftover from lunch. We were eating dinner. The chicken was a thin sliver of what seemed to be a pre-packaged piece of meat. And even the ham on the club was not good. The sandwich was like a panini but the bread wasn’t cooked all the way through. My wife had the beet salad and it was nothing special. Not sure what’s going on here but we would not go back. The one bright spot was our waiter Raphael. He was great. Explained everything with enthusiasm and was as attentive as he could be while being the only waiter at the time as far as we could tell. That made service slow but it wasn’t his fault.

Hervé Wine Bar has fantastic atmosphere and the service is super friendly. The wine is mediocre-- pretty typical for the region-- too sweet for the varietals. Food is good with the wine and the menu is super appropriate for a wine bar. Overall I recommend visiting for a good place to converse with friends or with a date. Just don't arrive with unrealistic expectations for southern New Mexico wines.

Nice atmosphere & concept. We enjoyed the wine flight and the space. The food was just ok. We had mussels, would not order again. Bruschetta was on thick slice bread, toppings were ok, not great. I’d choose different items if I return.

I've eaten at Herve at least a couple times before and have always enjoyed the experience. This time was not as good as I remembered. The bruschetta appetizer was still good but my steak frites was just okay. My husband's dinner (club sandwich) was not great either. The service left much to be desired, and this is to say it really wasn't busy. We might give it a try again later but not for a good while.

Reserved a month early for NYE, checked open table and website but no mention of special menu. Hostess alerted us when we arrived that there was a prix fixe menu for $95/per person, which would have been fine if we had been expecting that. The menu overall did not impress. Appetizer was bland, soup tasted like a canned soup, Chilean sea bass was under-seasoned , but the “risotto” was the worst offender. The rice was dry and had no flavor. Management did apologize and allowed us to order off the normal menu, even making the meals himself. The wagyu burger and pasta New Mexico were both good. We appreciated the manager making things right. Still overall would recommend trying this place. I think in the future they should advertise their prix fixe menus further ahead of time and should work on the execution a little, but I understand that holidays are always a challenging time for restaurants:

We arrived a little early, hoping to get a glass of wine while we waited for our table. I have never seen two people behind the bar work so hard to avoid eye contact with customers. I waited patiently for over 10 minutes without service. I turned away and when I came back a little bit later, the two ladies were eating behind the bar, still ignoring customers. At that point, we didn’t feel welcome and started to notice an unhappy trend with the other staff as well. It was now past our reservation time and others were also having to getting service at the bar. Diners leaving said the food was fair, but service was awful. At that point, we decided to leave.

Allie, our fabulous server, was absolutely incredible. We love Herve and when we are together as a family (which isn’t often enough because we live in different states) we love going to Herve because we can count on the ambiance, service, wine, and food to be stellar. This visit was no exception. But what really makes the visit so memorable is having someone like Allie take care of you as though she is also your family! Even remembering our names! Thank you so much. It meant the world to us.

The food was great & they can accommodate plates to be gluten free. Although the service was questionable, I would go back for the food & wine. Went with friends who have gone before, with some of us being our first time going.
