Opened in July 2011 by self-taught chef Mikael Jonsson, Hedone has quickly established itself on the London dining scene receiving acclaim from national as well as international reviewers.
In October 2011 Hedone won the One to Watch award at the National Restaurant Awards and got awarded of its first Michelin star in October 2012,followed by breaking into position 63 of the San Pelegrino world's 50 best list.
Hedone offers a very innovative setting with a totally open kitchen that serves to show that the chef has “nothing to hide”.

    Hedone was great. The food is local, and each course was flavorful and delicious. The wine pairing was amazing. The wines paired well with each course. The staff were all very friendly and fun!

    Visiting from North America, for a highly recommended and 1 Michelin star, the experience leaving the restaurant - left a bad taste in my mouth despite the chef and the kitchen’s effort to cook delicious meal. We have visited many great restaurants but this is one that I do not believe it’s worth returning. To give credit where it’s due, food itself was good for the price. I cannot say it was exceptional for the price. Unfortunately, it felt as if the restaurant’s focus and passion wasn’t food, from the beginning through the whole service and till the end, felt like we got second rate service compared to every other table. They were a bit pushy on the alcohol (I’m allergic to alcohol), especially when we didn’t order a full bottle which my husband cannot finish by himself. I still ordered non-alcoholic drinks. Then the meal seemed to be the same for everyone (they do not offer a menu so they can change it up whenever and whatever) as we were sat at the bar and could see everything, I mean everything - the cooking, the ingredients, the tension, the drama, the female chef touching of her nose and hair and back to the food without washing the hand, etc. So when every table but us, got the lamb from France and we got the quail. And the chef literally raving about the lamb to the next guests who drank bottles of wine, and other tables who rolled in with designer handbags and etc, makes you wonder how come we were the only ones who got served the quail? Plus we had ordered the daily special of sweet bread which they had completely forgotten!? And served us dessert first! For a 1 Michelin star restaurant, I expect consistency with the food, the service and the overall experience for every customer that walks through the door. Not just a great service and meal for friend bloggers and high alcohol consuming customers. I usually don’t do this kind of reviews but i think it’s only fair that other has opportunity to see what my experience was before they decide.

    Andy Haley speaks so highly of this place, but for us it is okay only. Worth a visit but won’t return again.

    Both food and service were professional but the ambiance was more like a dining Hall than a restaurant with a £105 price tag for dinner. And if you are a sensory person like me, you will be disappointed because there is no enticing aroma of food that will trigger your desire to eat.

    Great dining experience. It is like a culinary show with the kitchen as the star on center stage. The food was phenomenal. We were comfortably full after the tasting menu (without the cheese board). The dishes were fresh, tasty, and experimental cooked that I could not begin to figure out how it was cooked in such a way. I loved it and would recommend the experience.

    We heard a lot of good reviews before going to Hedone to try their Sunday brunch menu, but we were a bit disappointed. The service, interior and ambience were great but the food was not as good as what we expected. The homemade Pissaladiere, confit duck salad and the dessert were quite impressive but the burger (we tried both beef and guinea fowl) , which we had a high expectation for, turned out to be just OK.
