Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Gently rising and falling with the tide, the main restaurant at dock-level is joined by a 120-seat waterside bar. Both include terraces with views across the water (squint your eyes and you might just see the ghosts of great ships laden with mighty lengths of timber that used to swing in and unload there). There's also a private dining room for up to 20 people named after the local legend Queenie Watts, a singer, songwriter, actor and self-confessed bawdy landlady (think Peggy Mitchell meets Joni Mitchell). The menu revolves around the best British produce the country has to offer with grass-fed dry-aged ethically reared beef, sustainable seafood from the South coast and some of the biggest hits from the Hawksmoor New York menu.

Really lovely meal for my sons 18th. Great steaks and sides. The rum was very nice also. The position of the restaurant is amazing.

We ordered the Porterhouse for two people. The taste was good but the meat was dry and lacked of moisture which was very disappointing, especially for the price of £120. The starters and deserts were good, the service was good. Wine was very very average for the price. The place was very condensed and unpleasantly noisy. Overall we didn't see the value for the money. We can have amazing steaks elsewhere for half the price.

We had a fantastic meal at Hawksmoor. The staff were very friendly and attentive. And the food was fantastic. My husband and I loved it! We will be back.

I was astounded at how good the service was - a big change from the usual mediocre attention you get in restaurants these days. They actually seemed to care!!! The wine waiter engaged with us (and offered my wife a “taste” of the wine by the glass before committing), the waiter suggested I shouldn’t order the Caesar Salad after I asked for no anchovies, and staff kept checking on us without being intrusive. Absolutely perfect!!!! 10/10

Really nice restaurant and good service. We had the lunch special which was good although one of our steaks was perhaps a bit overcooked which is why I couldn’t give 5 stars Really good service, good location, good atmosphere, drinks a bit over priced but to be expected given location etc. I would come back.
