Welcome to Hawksmoor Chicago, where we bring our acclaimed steakhouse experience from the UK to the iconic LaSalle Powerhouse in River North. Our ethos is simple: ‘Buy the best and let it shine.’ We serve all-natural, pasture-reared, dry-aged beef from US family-run farms, cooked over charcoal and seasoned simply with sea salt. Our seafood, sourced from trusted Northeastern fishermen, is prepared with equal care.

In our 16,500 sq ft space, featuring barrel-vaulted ceilings and touches from the Golden Age of Travel, Hawksmoor is perfect for any occasion. Whether you’re stopping by for cocktails, a casual lunch or a special celebration, we make sure you leave full and happy. We also offer private dining for groups of 10 to full venue buy-outs for 500—ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and corporate events.

And don’t miss our Sunday Roast: dry-aged beef, beef-dripping potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and bone marrow gravy—something like a Thanksgiving dinner every Sunday.

Sundays at Hawksmoor are all about our Sunday Roast: all-natural, dry-aged, slow-roasted Rump served with crispy beef dripping potatoes, Caraflax cabbage and carrots, gigantic Yorkshire puddings, lashings of bone marrow & onion gravy and the option for a side of cauliflower cheese or slow-roasted bone marrow and onions. Sunday Roast dates back to the 15th century where large joints of meat were roasted on a spit over an open fire; to achieve a similar flavor, we start ours on our charcoal grill and finish them in the oven. Many who've had a Sunday Roast equate it to a Thanksgiving dinner – a comforting, filling meal that is best in the company of loved ones. And, should a Bloody Mary, or two, be consumed alongside it, who are we to judge?

It’s a simple concept: bring any wine you like – doesn’t matter if it’s a first-growth Bordeaux or a bottle of Barefoot – and we’ll only charge you $10 corkage (for up to two bottles). Not sure what to buy? Take a stroll over to our neighbors at the Aqua Wine & Spirits store (they’re literally on the other side of the street) and they’ll help you choose something to make your meal pop. You can even call us ahead of time and ask one of our somms what they suggest.

Cocktail Hour is kind of a big deal here at Hawksmoor. From 5 till 7pm, Monday to Friday, you can grab one of our world-class cocktails for a cool $12 – and we’re doing our freshly shucked Island Creek oysters for just $2 a pop. Try Chicago’s coldest martini – we serve ours at a bracing 10°f – with spicy Scotch Bonnet Oysters or our Full Fat Old Fashioned with charcoal-roasted bone marrow oysters. The best bit? No reservations required – just swing by when it suits you. Of course, if you’d like to stay for dinner, you can book a table any time.

Hawksmoor was a great vibe and service was outstanding with above and beyond treatment!!! We had a party of 6 and for the most part our food was good with the exception of a few had to be prepared to our liking. Overall, I will be back for dinner soon!!

Love the upscale pub decor. Som let us try a few wines before ordering a nice Vermentino and Barbera. Good Ceasar salad. The chicken was wonderful and large portion. The lobster Louie had tons of lobster. Veg Wellington was excellent. Nice job.

Sunday Roast was wonderful. I brought my British boyfriend for his birthday and the staff at Hawksmoor made him feel right at home. Thank you so much for making the day extra special. We will be back to try the dinner menu for sure.

I had indicated on Open Table that it was a special birthday event and contacted the restaurant. They confirmed that they were aware of my request. Our server was great but didn’t have a clue about the birthday request so dessert showed without a candle. Our table was located in a high traffic area, the alternative was next to a service area. Since we saw many desserts pass with candles, perhaps all the more desirable tables went to them. Good place for a casual steak dinner but not so special for a special occasion.
