   We had reservations for Valentine's evening, but still got seated in a room on a small table next to a fabric wall where the winter wind was making us cold. We kept our coats on. The rest of the restaurant looked warm and inviting. Food was really good, but my Skirt Steak could have used some kind of starch, something small, to balance out the meat flavor.

   Everything was amazing, my only comment would be the Manhattan steak did taste very charred, it could be from the coffee rub possibly. All in all though me and my girlfriend love Hardware and will definitely be back again.

   Best restaurant my wife and I have enjoyed in years. From the house brews through the delicious appetizers , the excellent entrees to the melt in your mouth desserts … we enjoyed our visit and can’t wait to come back.

   Dining rooms are tight, lighting was not soft where we were sitting and not great value. The food was just OK. So many people love it there, but I found it ‘meh.’

   We visited Hardware for the first time to celebrate a birthday. The service was outstanding! The food was good with locally sourced ingredients but we would not order the same entrees again. We had the Brisket which was flavorful but a bit too dry and the Red Curry Mussels which were plentiful and plump, but the coconut red curry sauce with jalapeños was too sweet for our taste. The kids pasta had a chunky red sauce and was a hit! They also make their own beer on site (although we did not try), and have the 2nd largest selection of whiskey in the state of Illinois. We each had one of their signature whiskey based cocktails which did not disappoint! But, the bar is unable to make some popular off-menu cocktails because they do not stock the necessary liqueurs. All of that being said, we had a wonderful experience and will definitely return in the future.

   Always a great meal, excellent service, knowledgeable bar staff (Alex knows his bourbons!). It's a bit pricey, especially for the suburbs, but I guess that's the price of quality.

    As always, the food was excellent! Also enjoyed the chef’s Whistlepig rye with desert. Chad took good care of us, as usual..
