Why they're an Icon

Executive chef: Peter Cho

From the OpenTable editors: Han Oak has been a smash hit with critics from GQ and Portland Monthly since it opened in 2017, thanks to James Beard Award-nominated chef Peter Cho’s shareable Korean tasting menus. The feast starts with banchan—including Cho’s mom’s kimchi—and moves through heaping platters of bulgogi and koji-cured coppa before ending with bingsoo (shaved ice) and, if you're lucky, boisterous late-night karaoke.

we have been wanting to try han oak for years and finally did last weekend. the seasonal prix fixe was a nabe, which we normally aren’t a fan of, but han oak did it so amazingly well! the ingredients tasted local, fresh, and seasonal, and everything—from the banchan to the fried chicken to the nabe itself and the jook, and, finally the dessert— was made beautifully. we wanted to try other dishes but just didn’t have enough stomach space. our main server was sweet and cordial and charming, as were other servers who came by, and a chef(?) came out to prepare the jook for us. the food was so tasty, accentuating the super beautiful ingredients without overpowering with seasonings, and our experience was incredibly lovely.

This entire experience was amazing! Food, drinks and service was top notch. They paid special attention to our diaries restrictions ( fish allergy ) and went above and beyond to ensure safety and a tasty amazing dinner for everyone. I highly recommend you try this delicious meal experience! Walking in the front door might have you wonder but as soon as you step inside you will not regret it!!!

Delightful experience for a date night without our baby girl! The hot pot is a real treat and the banchan was full of treats I could eat all day long! Service was phenomenal and every need catered! Loved the vibe, heated toilet seats/bidets (what?!! Amazing and fun and a nice treat), great ambiance and vibe. Lovely staff. Make the Rez.

Mostly really good, but the dessert on the prix fixe menu was silly. The flavor was really good, but it was single serving size to split between every 2 people. Even the birthday boy had to split his tiny dessert with someone else in our group. Come on, give everyone their own tiny custard!

We loved our experience at Han Oak! They were so accommodating to my dietary needs and went above and beyond to make sure I still had delicious options to eat. We went for our anniversary and they helped make it so special. We’ll definitely be back! Han Oak is a gem!

I love this place so much. It truly feels like you're in someones home in the best way. A really NICE home. We went for a special wine and meal pairing and the winemaker poured the wine himself and it couldn't have been lovelier.

Brought my wife here for a belated Valentines day dinner have been wanting to come here for a while. Really exceeded my expectations. Staff is very patient with folks new to the style of food. The variety of flavors, the service and the ambience is amazing. I can see why this place is so highly rated.
