   I got the Valentine's special - Appetizer, main course, and dessert. There were so many good choices that it was difficult to decide. The deviled eggs were good. The salmon w. carrots and rice was excellent, along w. the apple bread pudding w. homemade vanilla ice cream. The service was excellent and very pleasant and prompt in spite of a birthday party taking place in the larger room and other diners coming and going. The overall experience was quite good and well worth more visits. The 3 course special for $30 was well worth it.

   Hamrock's is our go-to restaurant for all special occasions. Set in what was a home, dating to 1840, the atmosphere reflects the history of Old Town Fairfax City. The food is phenomenal. We each ordered their Lobster Bisque for an appetizer. The portion was perfect and the taste was exquisite. Coincidentally, we both ordered the surf and turf w/crab cake entree. My wife substituted the sides. The crab cakes were delicious, and I cut my filet mignon with my fork. The Lemoncello Cake is a perfect dessert.

   A Hidden Gem with Historic Charm and Modern Flavors Stepping into Hamrock's feels like stepping back in time—in the best way possible. The historic charm of the space is something you rarely find these days, and it’s been preserved beautifully while seamlessly blending with a modern, well-curated menu. It’s the perfect balance of history, nostalgia and contemporary dining. From the moment we arrived, we were embraced by a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home (but you must find the side entrance first as the main entrance is temporarily out of order). The menu was a delightful surprise, featuring a thoughtful mix of classic and innovative dishes, all executed to perfection. Every bite reflected high-quality ingredients and meticulous preparation—truly a feast for the senses. While the noise level was a bit higher than expected (I think a few wall decorations would tone down the noise level) and the main dining room was a touch chilly (recommend dress warmly), these minor inconveniences were quickly overshadowed by the exceptional service. Our server went out of her way to ensure we were comfortable, checking in regularly and making thoughtful recommendations. Her warmth and attentiveness made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Overall, Hamrock's is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates a dining experience that combines rich history, a cozy ambiance, and a menu that respects tradition while embracing creativity. We’ll absolutely be back!

   Hamrock's is a gem whether for a weekend brunch or good ol' catch up with a gal pal. Love the deviled eggs and the home's history. Love that we don't have to go into the district for excellent food.

    Since my husband‘s birthday was also around restaurant week we decided to choose the Hamrock restaurant to celebrate. I am so happy with the choice. They were so warm and welcoming in this beautiful colonial house turned into a restaurant. Our server was incredible very professional and the hostess gave us personalized menus that said “happy birthday” at the very top. My husband thought it was the birthday of the restaurant so he went around looking for another menu  to see if it really was personalized. The food was in incredible. From what I understand risotto is not easy to make. The chef who created this risotto is incredibly talented because it was creamy flavorful and delicious. Everyone else enjoyed their meal so much that they took part of it home so that they can enjoy it again today I don’t have that kind of control. Neither did my husband. The dessert was delicious too. Lemon cello cake light fluffy not too sweet. Thank you once again for an incredible experience. Whoever the owner is of this restaurant should be very proud of their staff

   Hamrock’s never disappoints. Every time I’ve gone there I’ve had something different and it’s always delicious. Each of us at a table for four had something unique tonight and we all loved it. Friendly staff people. Great location.

    Food was very good, as with the service. The entire staff was friendly. I enjoy eating in an old house, maybe a fresh coat of paint would be beneficial.
