   My friend and I really enjoyed the food and service last night during dinner at Hackney's on Lake. It was an outstanding experience! I would definitely come here again with family and friends! :)

   We’ve been going to Hackney’s on Lake for 50 years, and while some things (like prices) have changed, the basics never have. It’s still a great place for families, for fantastic food and for relative value.

   Had a 5:30 P.M. reservation for a quiet table for 5 off to the side. They seated us at a table for 4 with an extra chair at one end resulting in a crowded enviroment with large group tables next to us on 2 sides. Food delivered but was neither cooked as ordered nor was condements not eliminated as requested for health reasons.

   The staff was pleasant and the service was not rushed. Food was good as always.....and the bag pipers were great.

   As always, Hackneys is THE place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! We had a great dinner, the reception staff and our waiter were excellent and we loved the atmosphere. A staple in our family for many years.

   Had a fun night celebrating St Patricks Day! It was very busy, but the service was great and our food came out quickly. The corned beef dinner and hamburgers were delicious!

   Server wasn’t overly friendly. Didn’t offer anything for my kids, drink wise, etc. They had NO options for kids, it was so strange! Hackney burger was truly a burger patty in-between two giant pieces of rye bread. Lettuce, small tom, onion on the side. For $19?! Rueben rolls were cold. Food was not good for the price. We asked for two slices of pie to go, and the server didn’t seem happy. We normally love it here but for St Patty’s weekend, major disappointment! We did love the bag pipers though, that was amazing!

    Taking into account that St. Patrick’s Day weekend is a busy time at Hackney’s there is NO excuse why waited over an hour for any food. While we were waiting, we saw other tables that were seated AFTER us get what appeared to be the exact same food we ordered. When our appetizer finally arrived, we expressed our displeasure with the service and the “manager” immediately offered to comp our meal. It was an unfortunate experience at one of our favorite restaurants.
