   We enjoyed our first visit here! Service was excellent, sharing was easy. Cocktails were delicious and fun. We liked the Labneh the most, Kefte was good, sauce was flavorful and spicy.

   The restaurant has a good ambience. However, there are limited food choices. For a vegetarian, I could be a challenge. The prices, as expected, are higher side.

   Crispy cauliflower not crispy at all and cold. Six small pieces of octopus along with stale potato chips. Pork belly overcooked and hard. Branzino not hot but good.

   We have been to Gypsy Kitchen in Atlanta years ago. Discovered the DC one last October. Love this place!! Never disappointed.

   Loved the ambiance and food. It’s a cute place. The service was terrible. We went for Mother’s Day brunch/ husbands birthday . We all finished our food my daughter was still waiting for syrup for her pancakes. Finally she got bit was so little we asked for more had to wait longer. Finally we paid and about to leave the server gave us one dessert and candle to take home when we were at the door because she forgot to bring. Which melted in our car home. That sums it.

    I have walked by this place for years and thought, "Golly, I should try that place.". Then i never did, until today. Gypsy Kitchen: you won't find a better priced value and food quality in town for Sunday brunch. Now that Brookland's Finest is long gone, I thought it wasn't possible to find a brunch location you could actually get into and not lose your paycheck and still get good, rock solid food. This is that hidden Sunday brunch gem, and it's smack dab right in the middle of the hot 14th Street strip! It is terrific because our server was top notch, the food he recommended was superior to comparable in town here, and that upstairs outdoor deck on a gorgeous spring Sunday was not impossible to get a great table, nor was it pretentious. My friend had a Bloody Mary and the Spanish Benedict and she just loved the quality and healthy Putin of greens that evened it out. I had the kefte burger with insane tomato jam and wrote was it flavourful. Run, don't walk. Everything is closing in D.C. thanks to the massive lay offs at the U.S. govt. Don't let this great joint slip from our collective fingertips.
