Everything was as expected - food was very good, the ambience and the view was very good (we got the window table as requested, with a great harbour view), but the service!! It was as if a bunch of amateurs were running the show. We didn't want a lot of food, so the captain or maitre d' recommended a number of starters and mains - however, it didn't prove to be enough and we had to order one more. This wasn't a major problem - he had to guess at how much we wanted to eat. However, between the starters and the mains, there was a 45 minute wait!!! Water wasn't refilled; we had to ask several times, when we asked some of the meat dishes to be cut, it wasn't done properly and there was a delay; waiters weren't around when we needed them; when the toothpick container was brought, there were only five toothpicks (we were a party of seven). These frustrations put a damper on the evening. The leader of the team apologized, saying they had many trainees on the job, and gave us free dessert and coffee. This kind of service certainly wasn't expected for a major hotel's dining room, especially for Hong Kong.

Grissini is a good place for a semi-formal dinner for celebrations with friends and family. Believe it or not, the grissini bread sticks served at the beginning of the meal impressed me the most. Not to say the rest was not delicious, they were all carefully and beautifully prepared, but the food at Grissini's just lack a wow factor as a whole.
