Incredibly small portions. Not worth it at all. Service was good but I genuinely can’t believe the portion sizes even including the fact that it’s “shareable”.

Every bite was amazing. Bass was the best fish I have ever had, and pork belly was tender and crispy at the same time. This is a don’t miss in Chicago.

It has been 10 years since my husband and I dined at girl and the goat and we were very excited to go back and see what changes were made over the years! Unfortunately, we were left quite dissatisfied. We ordered four dishes, the first being the oysters, which were good but quite honestly $18 for two oysters is a little excessive. The second dish was the liver mousse. The crumpets were either fried or excessively buttered, which felt unnecessary. The liver moose was OK, the blueberry preserve was delicious. The two pickled accompaniments, were just that, accompaniments. They didn't bring any value to the dish whatsoever and quite honestly, were flavorless. Our third course was the broccoli which was supposed to be served with a blue cheese smear/purée of some sort. No blue cheese flavor whatsoever and it tasted like a box of French fried onions dumped on top of the broccoli. Our fourth and final dish was the pork shank, which was the best of thefour. Again, did the nan/tortilla need to be as fried and greasy as it was? Where was the butternut squash in the dish as stated on the menu, and the lettuce pieces were so small we couldn't use it as an alternative option to eating with the pork. Our cocktails were decent. Overall, my husband and I came to the consensus that at the end of our dining experience we felt very unhealthy and dissatisfied.

Are you kidding me!?! This place always delivers beyond expectations, while still be unfussy and full of flavor. How special that this place exists and continues to go above and beyond. The green beans, the pork shank, the mousse, the sea bass, the poke… not one thing was a dud. It was so good. Book it and go… if you’re disappointed, I’m gonna guess you’re a disappointment…

I was very excited to visit this restaurant but was disappointed. It is Very noisy and overcrowded. Couldn't really get into our seats or hear each other talk. The waitress did not come back once after taking our order. Only with the bill right at the end. Beware- The restaurant (which is pricey) sneakily add on 4% to the tab. You can have it taken off if you request (if you happen to study the very small print on the tab).

I wanted it to be great, but it was just good IMO. The main reason for my 3-star (not 5) score is that all the food we tried (which were all recommendations from multiple workers) just had too much sauce. We got the green beans, bass, pork belly, goat confit, and coconut rum dessert. The sauces were all good, but they took away from the protein being the star of the show. We also got lucky and were seated at the chef's table. They even made it out to be a more elevated experience and hinted at "the chef usually sends out the chickpea app on the house" So we purposely did not order it, but nothing ever came. Felt it would be a little tacky to say, "hey what about that free dish you were talking about?" I've sat at many chef's table, but there was nothing special about this one unfortunately. It looked like many people were ordering the tuna, and we were also told "I wouldn't order the oysters" so we didn't (although it looked good - someone was being trained so the variability of the dish was probably in question). The green beans app was a great start and would get that again. Chicago is one of my favorite food towns and unfortunately just left underwhelmed and disappointed in this choice. I would try again but would ask for less saucy options and try other items (or serve a side of white rice or some type of bland starch to counterbalance the rich sauces)
