Giovanni’s Ristorante invites you to experience Italian cuisine in an atmosphere reminiscent of the old world charm where friends and family gather to enjoy more than just a meal. The homemade pastas, the prime cuts of meat, the fresh fish and farm grown vegetables are carefully prepared to preserve a distinctive flavor of the finest regions.

Specialty wines and spirits complement each course. Guests enjoy tableside conversation with Frances Cannarsa Truant, the “padrona” or perhaps a visit from Chef Randy Truant. The atmosphere is convivial, warm, and aromatic. The staff is seasoned, the service impeccable.

Waitress was obviously new. Didn’t know the menu. We ordered desert and after a wait she showed up with the bill instead of desert. Overpriced for the quality of the food. First and probably last visit. Disappointed after all the hype.

Absolutely INCREDIBLE! I loved every single bite this was a truly fantastic Italian restaurant if not the best in all of Michigan hands down. Everything was 10/10 and I loved that everything is made in house! Staff is very attentive and very kind/patient. You will be happy you come here. I recommend making reservations and they get booked fast!

My colleagues and I have been looking forward to dining here for a quite some time. Unfortunately it was not what we expected. While the food was ok, the service was not. I think our server was new. We were seated immediately when we arrived for our 530 reservation. We sat over 10 minutes before our server came over to introduce her herself and ask for our drink orders. I ordered appetizers at the same time. We waited another 10 minutes until I had to ask for some bread to be brought over. And I had to do this with another server as ours seemed like she disappeared. Mind you the restaurant was not full and I. Our area I counted 4 open tables out of at least 10 in the dining room area we were in. After 15 more minutes the bread arrived and a couple minutes after that the appetizers. Once we were finished with appetizers, we sat yet another 10-15 before she came by to ask for our dinner orders. Dinner was served in good time but our server did not come by once to ask how anything was or if we needed anything. Not that we did but in a restaurant of this caliber, it was expected. Dinner for 4 took well over 2.5 hours. The food was brought out in good time after it was ordered but having to ask for the basics was not what I was expecting

Food was superb! Everything is house made, from pasta down to the salad dressing and desserts. Service was excellent. Really old school restaurant in an industrial area that years ago was an Italian neighborhood. It's a testament to the quality of their food that they're still in business and thriving.
