Gene and Georgetti is Chicago's original steakhouse since 1941. This family-owned establishment housed in Chicago's third oldest building serves the finest prime-aged steaks and chops, pastas, & signature dishes invented here such as The Garbage Salad and Chicken alla Joe. Our curated wine list originates from our roots in Lucca, Tuscany, Italy - we concentrate on Italian varietals that complement our classic Italian steakhouse menu.

Securely processed credit card info is required to secure a reservation. No-shows or cancellations within 48 hrs will be charged $25 pp.
As a reminder we do have a 15 minute grace period to honor your reservation, past that time your reservation will be forfeit.
Valet parking after 3pm is $15 cash.
Our dress code is Business Casual- you never know who you might see at G & G!
Gene & Georgetti can accommodate your party of up to 100. .
Our restaurant has two floors ,and there is no elevator ,please let us know if you require special accommodation.

    This restaurant has professional wait staff who really understand customer service. As well established as it is, and well known nationwide, they treat every customer as if they are special. Having been to so many newer restaurants in Chicago, there is a general lack of good customer service that isn’t being properly taught to the staff. But this place brings it because it’s not millennials serving you. It’s staff with decades of experience.

    This was one of the best meals I’ve had in a VERY long time!! Everything was so good. The Bleu Cheese dressing is divine! I had the prime rib and it was delicious! My husband really enjoyed his NY Strip! The service was top notch the best service ever. Very attentive and noticed the things I needed before I did! We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and our experience here really enhanced his special day! Thank you to everyone from the manager who kindly greeted us to the server assistants who helped our keep our table clean and of course our incredible server! We’ll be back soon!

    If you've been here in the past, or just want to experience an old school Italian steak house, Gene and Georgetti's is the place. No pretense, no kitsch, no resting on laurels or trying to modernize the atmosphere. Just GREAT food and immaculate service from a Chicago institution that still manages to feel just like a neighborhood joint where you're one of the regulars. Friendly, kind and attentive staff who actually make you feel that they love what they do. After 30 plus years it is still the absolute best steak I've ever had.

    The food is always great here. This is a great old school place with great food, great bar and great service. Our waiter Alex was great! Looking forward to the next visit.

    Gene and Georgetti never fails to impress. Held a small company dinner for six, and everything was outstanding. From the bartenders who served us while we were waiting for the entire party to arrive, to the hosts that checked periodically to ensure all was well, and the our waiters and the food, everything was impecable. G&G is my go-to steakhouse in Chicago. With the old-world atomshpere, situated under the El , and the food and service, I will never go anywhere else.
