   Went for Restaurant Week. Severely disappointed by the lack of items in the salad bar, along with the speed and quality of service. It took 15 mins for a server to acknowledge us and another 20 to get our drinks. When he arrived, he didn’t introduce himself or greet us in any way, just opened with “do you want drinks?” We were never offered a plate change, or offered another drink. The meats were coming out very slowly and without variety, until we asked our server for specific items. At the end, we asked for a box for leftover desserts, which he forgot twice and also took around 15 minutes to bring. At that point of the night the restaurant had slowed down, and it was very disappointing to see other adjacent tables get better service than us, and a better attitude. There was a young lady who only spoke Spanish was turning tables around and assisting the servers in the area and she was really nice. Unclear if I’ll come back.

   We were incredibly disappointed with our experience. The salad bar was lacking. We were only offered about 6 different meat options from the waiters, and waited a significant amount of time between meat offerings. We ordered drinks multiple times before the waiter remembered to bring them. The last round was never brought. Our party of four all commented that this was the first time we’ve ever left a Brazilian steakhouse and not felt full. We spent over 2 hours at the restaurant attempting to complete our meal and finally had to ask for our check after 20 minutes of completing our dessert.

   The old adage, “You get what you pay for” is very appropriate in this case. The price is in direct relationship to the quality of food, presentation, atmosphere, and customer experience. Galpao Gaucho is one of the best establishments we’ve visited. Authentic, classy, warm, inviting, and the food was well worth the time and money! They know what they’re doing!

   First of all when we arrived on time for our reservation, it took 15-20 mins for the host to give us a table. Second, the service was very slow and had to wait a lot for stuff you will ask or will not even get what you asked for. Food was good but there was only very few people bringing the meat with a limited number of cuts.

   Nos llevaron solo 3 veces carne, era una cena nada barata, y realmente no llevaron lo suficiente, tuvimos que estarles recordando que nos llevaran. Definitivamente nunca volveré.

   For the first time in years, the food was not to the Galpao Gaucho standard. The meat was not cooked correctly. The cheese bread had no flavor, I spent most of my time waiting for the waiters to stop by to offer a piece of meat.

   Food had no flavor. I’ve been to other Brazilian steakhouses so I have a decent foundation of what the food should taste like. The sides were so bland, the meat had no flavor, the picanha and plantain were the best part about the meal. We had no idea who our server was and no one came to formally greet us. Will not be returning here again.

   This place was OK. I’m really not sure I’d go there again. The chicken was really dry, the chimuchurri was like taco palenque pico - definitely not chimichurri - and for whatever reason my boyfriend and I noticed that once we were given one cut of meat the waiters seemed to pass us over several times with the same cut which doesn’t really happen at other Brazilian steakhouses. Could be that the place is just small, not really sure but normally it’s just a better experience. The bartender was cool and the server was nice I feel like they just generally could have done a better job. Sort of lame just spending upwards of $200 and then sort of reflecting and stating that we could have just waited for Chauma to open up the day after Christmas and had the real experience we were looking for. So just kind of a bummer.

    Not as good as your larger Brazilian steakhouses. Price is a little steep considering service you receive. Service is kind of slow. Meat servers aren’t as trained as they should be with cuts and knives. Not a terrible place to dine but would be behind all other Brazilian steakhouses in SA.
