A little about us & the culture that has been created… Friedmans is a family run business, which operates locations throughout New York City. Friedmans was named after the famous economist Milton Friedman who popularized the phrase, “there ain’t no such thing as a free lunch”. This phrase has gone on to be used in science, economics, finance, statistics, technology, sports, & now food. However, to put it simply, “to get one thing we like, we usually have to give up another thing we like.” Our mantra is simple, “Eat good food” and this is what we strive to deliver to our guests. For us, it has two meanings. Firstly, eat food that tastes good. Secondly, be proud of the food you serve. We know where our food comes from. We communicate regularly with our farmers and are proud to serve antibiotic free meats & local vegetables. Our mission is for you to love, respect, & enjoy, not only the food you serve, but also the team you work with.

The food and service were great! The museum closed earlier than we expected so we went over early and they were able to accommodate us with seating at the bar. We got the specials (patty melt and shawarma salad), both which came out in a timely manner and tasted great. The bartender was attentive, friendly and helpful. We definitely intend to come back!

We just stopped by for a quick dinner before heading out to walk New York City. The hamburger was great, and the salmon salad looked quite delicious.

We loved our pork chops and salmon dinners. We were fortunate to get a booth because my companion uses a walker and we needed some extra room. One of our favorite places to eat!

Salads were just fair, nothing special, especially for the price. Pastrami was just ok with some grizzly parts. I wouldn't return.

Food is always consistent and good. Very reliable for gluten free dining with a large assortment of choices. Great french fries!!!!

Exceptional service by Sammy, delicious food and a festive ambiance made for a perfect Sunday night pre-Beacon Theater-show dinner. We enjoyed tender short ribs, tasty brick chicken and the quinoa bowl with chicken, followed by crème brûlée and chocolate babka for dessert. And we were only a short walk to the Beacon Theater for our show.

Did not ask about bringing a salad prior to the main courses, and all came together. My husband asked that they just take away his entree and call it a day. They then offered to bring it after he had finished his salad. We said okay, but both of our meals were pretty just on par. My grilled cheese sandwich was very skimpy on the cheese and his fried chicken was on the burnt to a crisp side.

We always enjoy Friedman's! We both love their salmon and this time we added one of the specials, mushroom soup. Delicious! And bowl was big enough to share. I just wish they'd bring back their lobster and macaroni and cheese. My favorite!!
