Drawing inspiration from the region’s history and natural surroundings, the 156-seat freestanding restaurant reflects elemental themes of wood, water, iron, and fire, reminiscent of the carriage houses and blacksmith shops that once dotted the landscape. The centerpiece of Forge & Vine is an eight-foot wood fired grill and open kitchen with counter seating where guests can enjoy dinner while interacting with the chef. Welcoming residents as well as visitors to the area, Forge & Vine offers a strong sense of place with a design sensibility that brings in the outside with floor to ceiling windows offering breathtaking pastoral views of Gibbett Hill. This was our first visit to Forge and Vine and will definitely not be our last. The service and food were excellent. Although a bit of a hike for us, the drive is worth it!

Service was wonderful but the main meals were a letdown. The filet mignon was pre-cut on the plate which was a complete disappointment. The presentation of the main dish also had sparse sides and didn’t provide the value that we would expect from a $50+ meal.

The cauliflower steak dish with grilled brocollini was outstanding , as was the filet mignon with braised endives. Burrato salad was good and a large serving. The carrot side dish was fine but not the same level as the rest of the food - would have been better served hot or crispy. Cocktails were great. Service was a bit slow but it was a busy crowded night. Sitting near the open kitchen was a great opportunity to watch the show. $4.50 oyster is a bit extreme though!

Forge and Vine is always great - reliable, excellent food, great service, beautiful location and convenient to the Groton Hill Music Center. We eat there most nights we have concert tickets. Even on busy nights, the service is considerate and excellent. Recommended!

Beautiful scenery.. great atmosphere...delicious cocktails are all just a preamble to the incredible food.starting from the bread and Vermont butter to the Deesert Charcuterie nothing misses.We had Short ribs with root veggies,ribs super tender.And the Forge and Vine Cheeseburger that was cooked to perfection.We will surely be back.

Special event medium. Set up was horrible. Cramped at a table of 10 people that I didn’t know. Literally sitting on top of each other. Under staffed to feed a room of 100. One waitress- one bartender. Food was delicious but uncomfortable and annoying night.
