    Gorgeous restaurant, food, decor, staff all just lovely. Felt really cosy and safe too. This was my first time out dining alone after the death of my husband in September and I definitely chose the right place to take those tentative steps. Food was delicious and I would definitely recommend.

    While we were visiting York we wanted to have a meal with a special friend and bring our dogs. What a great choice. A table that was slightly to one side so we weren’t in close proximity to anyone else. Very friendly and accommodating staff and delicious food and wine. Also a very relaxed atmosphere so no pressure to hurry and very reasonably priced. We had a wonderful evening. Infact we liked it so much we went back the next day for lunch!

    One of the best dining experiences I’ve had. The restroom ambience was perfect, the food (all 3 courses) were outstanding- slightly pricey but 100% worth it. The waiting staff were very kind and helpful. Would recommend this to friends and family and hope to visit again in the future! I will be thinking about the beef brisket and truffle mash for a long time!

    Having read lots of great reviews about the Forest we decided it was about time to check out if it was as good as we'd heard and so glad we did. It more than lived up to expectations. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Will definitely be going again and would highly recommend to others. A little gem of a place.

    We’ve visited every time we are in York and tonight was the best food we’ve eaten yet it was amazing Can’t fault the lovely staff and once again can’t overstate how nice the food was

    Really love meal on New Years Eve, service was fantastic and the food very tasty. Portions very generous and unfortunately had to leave quite a lot. Really lovely restaurant
