Forcella is bringing old-world Italian food to the North End of Boston.
Nino Trotta — who owns Forcella alongside his girlfriend, general manager and co-owner Shannon MacGowan, and his brother, wine director Christian Trotta — say that the cozy, candlelit vibe of the restaurant sets Forcella apart in a sea of massive North End restaurants.
“It’s tiny, 30 seats,” he said. “It’s perfect for a date.”
The kitchen team has designed a menu that includes dishes from all over Italy, with a slight lean toward Naples, where the Trotta family is from. Primi dishes include meatballs, crispy quail, while pastas range from linguine alle vongole and risotto to gnocchi with braised rabbit. Salmon, ribeye, round out the menu.

A wonderful dinner catching up with friends! Pretty holiday decor added to the warmth of the room. Food was delicious and the service was friendly like always. Our favorite spot in the North End!

Terrible! Ate there last night and food was inedible. Ordered several appetizers and they came out 2 minutes later. This is not an exaggeration! We asked them several times to slow it down and it was obvious they were not happy about it. When our entrees came, both meals were horrible! The lobster risotto was cold lobster mixed into a tomato sauce which looked like mush and tasted even worse. The spaghetti fra diavlo sauce tasted like ragu sprinkled with red pepper flakes. When waitress asked us how our meals were, we were honest with her. She apologized but it’s not her fault the food was bad. She brought our check and said she took both meals off the bill. This wasn’t our intention by being honest. We eat out frequently and this was one of the worst meals we have ever had. Despite the food being bad, we didn’t want the food taken off the bill. We tried to hand it back to her to put both meals back on, she basically threw it back down on the table in disgust and walked away. We did tip on what the full amount of the bill should have been. The couple sitting next to us were just as unhappy with their meals and experience as well. They returned their appetizer a minute after it came for tasting horrible and were disgusted when the waitress dropped off the check when they still had half a bottle of wine left without being asked if they wanted anything else. If you are looking for a great dining experience in the North End, I would highly recommend going somewhere else.

This was our first visit to Forcella and it will not be our last! My wife and I arrived a bit early and were promptly seated. A smaller establishment with a cool vibe and wonderful staff. Our server (can't remember her name) was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. The pacing of the meal with exactly to our liking, relaxed with time between courses. We started with an Arugula Salad that included Grana, Shaved Fennel, Baby Heirloom Tomatoes, Lemon Vinaigrette, Toasted Pistachio. One of the best we have had and shout out to the toasted pistachio. For entrees, my wife had the Pappardelle alla Bolognese which she enjoyed very much while I ordered the Pan Roasted Duck Breast. This was prepared with braised fennel, parsnip puree, roasted mushrooms, Calabrian chili oil, and orange gremolata. This duck was as good as it gets. If you haven't tried/found Forcella, I suggest you give it a try. You will be so happy you did!

Had another fantastic dinner at Forcella this week! We were warmly greeted at the door, enjoyed a pre-dinner drink at their bar, had terrific service, and continue to enjoy the ambience visit after visit. The only difficulty was choosing which pasta to enjoy from the many options available! We decided to share the arugula salad and the Salumi e Formaggi for starters, a mid-course of the Cacio e Pepe and the Rigatoni alla Barese, followed by the Ribeye and Bone-in Pork Chop. We loved every bite! This is our go to place in the North End - it never disappoints (unlike some of the mediocrity experienced elsewhere). We highly recommend!!

We had such a wonderful experience at Forchella! Having dined at many restaurants in the North End, we've never had such an intimate and perfect evening. From the moment we arrived, we were seated immediately, and our server greeted us right away. She was incredibly welcoming and took the time to guide us through the menu, even sharing some of her personal favorites. We decided to take her recommendations, and we are so glad we did! We started with the mussels and Gnocchi al Coniglio. Both were absolutely delicious, with the freshest ingredients. The mussels were served piping hot, and my husband can’t stop talking about the gnocchi with braised rabbit—it was a standout dish for sure! For our mains, we had the salmon and the ribeye. Every component on the plate was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The service was exceptional, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food was simply outstanding—A++++! We can’t wait to return!

I had the arugula salad to start it was good mixed well with dressing .I had the pesto pasta for dinner which was also good pasta la dente and pesto sauce seemed homemade. My kids got The meatballs they claimed were the Best But they were really bad . Watery and burnt on outside. I feel like they were frozen and just reheated that day . Lacked flavor and not good . Everything else was good but was really disappointed with meatballs .

Close to 10 errors. Was a bday dinner - they totally forgot the bday. Raw meatballs. Wrong entree. Etc., lots of other little things done incorrectly. Felt like we were on Pranked. Was a great patience building exercise.
