   We booked a table for 10 to celebrate a birthday. We were seated on the upper level. Our server was also tending bar and seemed too busy or preoccupied for our group. The food was great and drinks ordered upon arrival at the lower level bar were made with care and craftsmanship. The drinks made for our group were fair at best. I don’t recommend this venue for a large group but otherwise is a great restaurant.

   Solid place to get food and beer, cocktails, wine, etc. We all enjoyed our food quite a bit. The eggplant, avocado/pineapple dip, and kale salad were good. My guests reported good burgers and fries. And my other guests enjoyed their salmon salad. The charcuterie board was disappointing, especially for the price. It was very underwhelming, and presentation was fair at best. All the beers we tried were actually pretty good. None of us ordered a cocktail. Ambiance is nice. Didn't love that we were forced (all of us under 5 ft 3 - to sit on a high top with our feet dangling) - had made a reso and when I inquired about the table at check-in was told it would be over an hour for a regular table. I wish I would have known and requested this up front. Overall, however, I do recommend Forbidden Root - and would return again.

   The food was very salty, I made a reservation in advance and there was not a table available when I got there so we were seated outside. Our waiter was amazing and very nice!

   The brussel sprouts, "pot pie" which was more of a quiche, and hummingbird cake were all fantastic. The prime rib sandwich left a lot to be desired. Flavorful, but not a lot of meat and the meat that was on the sandwich was 25% fat.

   For the reservation to be right when they opened, the table was dirty, our server stated they didn’t have any other juice besides orange juice for our mimosas (as I was allergic) even though there were other juices mentioned on the menu, and the shrimp and grits were too garlicky.

   The food is not very good. The service isn’t spectacular. In comparison to other restaurants in the area it would be my first or last choice.

   We enjoyed our meal here. We ordered the Lasagne dip for stater and then the double smashburger for entry. We got a Caesar salad side instead of the fries. The dip is fantastic. The Burger was good but the sauce on it was a little spicy for me. Overall a nice place with unique menu items.

    Great place. Super friendly server. Food was awesome. Duck and dumplings to die for. IPAs on draft were well balanced and tasty. The guest handles were good too.
