   Food took a long time, glasses weren’t polished lots of water stains and lip residue from previous patrons. Fish was possibly frozen, fish and grits portion was very small for the price point. Nice aesthetic. Flavors could bee pushed a lil further.

   My second time there and the food did not disappoint. Amazing food and drinks. The vibe was lovely of course. Service was better my first time but that’s because they were very busy the second time I went but the service was still very good.

   This is an amazing restaurant! I came in for a conference & wanted to make sure I supported locally so I chose this place for our team dinner. Every single thing we tasted was truly delicious! We had the table bread which melts in your mouth, Chesapeake oysters, fried chicken with collards, crab fried rice, braised short ribs, Mac n cheese & a wedge salad. Desert was the peach cobbler bread pudding. I'm sad I don't live anywhere near here but will definitely make sure I make reservations again on my next trip. I also should've taken more food pics.

   Great staff, delicious wedge salad, select standard seating and request dining room as opposed to bar area because of noise, music bass, and Sports Channel TVs in Bar Area.

   Wonderful meal, but extremely loud. Avoid Thursday evenings unless you enjoy karaoke and very loud music.

   I'd like to start out with the positive, the people that work there are beyond pleasant. The owner ended up taking our order and he was very nice. Because of that, I'm willing to give this restaurant another try but I have to be honest... The service (from getting someone to take your order, to getting your food from the kitchen, to even getting your final check ) is beyond slow and needs a lot of improvement. Maybe it was an off night and they didn't have enough servers. I counted 2 waitresses plus the owner. Was almost an hour after being seated to get food for clarity.... The food taste was good , not great, but the portions were huge. The presentation of the food was definitely picture worthy. We had the Branzino. If I return, I would try something different.

   Flavorture describes itself as an upscale restaurant. This may be true for its other locations but not DC. Highs: We were seated right away, aligned with our reservation time. Our server was friendly and attentive. The lighting, color scheme, and ambience was nice. Lows: There is no area for incoming guests to wait for their table, which means there’s a gaggle at the front door. Not ideal because there’s a four top very close to the front door and the bar is just as close. Imagine being seated at that table and being crowded by guests. You can’t enjoy your food. And it’s cold. The restaurant is small. Like very. Chair height to table height was wrong. Tables were much higher and they can’t be lowered which makes for an uncomfortable experience as you go. Menu selections were diverse but they were slightly overpriced. Vegan options tasted old, as if they weren’t prepared to order or sat in the freezer too long. We ordered lamb chops and the lobster dish. Both were elegantly plated and the lamb chops were cooked well but the lobster scampi was overly seasoned with Old Bay and the scampi was WAY too salty. Lobster was overcooked and not fully separated from the shell which made it very difficult to eat. I’m not sure we were comped for the appetizer we sent back. We were celebrating a birthday. Most restaurants comp a dessert or something but we had to ask if they did anything when the server was bringing us the bill. Unsure if they’d forgotten or what but that lil sign on the table was not enough. Especially given the price points. The blue/purple bar lighting exposed the dirt on the walls. This was not indicative of an upscale restaurant. It has potential but for requiring a $20 per guest deposit to book a reservation combined with the overall quality of the food, I left underwhelmed and somewhat still hungry.

   The Absolute Best!! The food is sumptuous, the service is loving and welcoming, and the chef/owners are so present, ensuring everyone has the best experience.

    Food was amazing and the DJ was a vibe! Definitely coming back next time we’re in town. Shout out to our waiter as well.
