   When you walk in, the ambience and atmosphere makes you feel comfortable and at peace, yet energetic. Every employee from top to bottom is courteous, knowledge, and extremely happy. Everyone is smiling at all times. I don't even like smiling but I couldn't help but join in! As far as the food goes, anything beef related is the best dish. If Nick's filet burger is on the menu for the much, please get it. There's nothing else like it in town. I would also like to add that anything that goes into oil (fries, chips, chicken, etc) seems to be done with oil that was brand new for the day. Clear and light finished product, every time. I've been in the foodservice industry for 10+ years and this place has never disappointed me.

   This was our first time dinning at First Mile and we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly and quick to attend to our needs. Since I noted on the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday they sat us near the open kitchen where you could watch the creativity and delicious food being made. It was great! Our party enjoyed the Meatloaf, Seared Duck, Grilled Chicken Salad, and Pork Chop. We shared bites so all could taste the different dishes. Each were creative and tasted wonderful!! The evening was such a treat!

   We were in town, saw good info about the chef on Instagram so thought it would be great. Appreciated the liquor selection and seasonal options. Ambiance was right up our alley! Our server was well educated on the entire menu. I had the chai martini - new to the menu, great chai scent, heavy vodka flavor. Then my dirty vodka martini was perfect - trust me, this can be messed up. We started with the Lobster ragoons - heavy lobster flavor as assumed, great sauce. There were 5, I would think they’d come in quantities of 6, but maybe that’s just stereotypical crabragoons. As a frequent braised short ribs orderer, I was let down. The meat was too fatty with little flavor. The Brussels and the glaze were great, but unnecessarily atop the cold mashed potatoes. The crème brûlée was alotta crème with little flavor, not enough brûlée. This is probably my favorite and most commonly ordered dessert, and I wouldn’t recommend either order at First Mile. My company doesn’t dine out as frequently as I, but to conclude the meal they said it was “ok”. I’d suggest either a different order, or perhaps a different dinner spot completely.

   First time trying with some friends. The drinks were amazing, the food was phenomenal .. i had their meatloaf and it was melt in your mouth so good. Portions were great and service was incredibly friendly & welcoming.

   The short ribs were tremendous, as were the crab cakes and house rose. The wait staff was very attentive and enjoyable. I said “probably one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Wichita” and my partner agreed .

   Some of the best farm market/Gastro pub food in Wichita. I’ve never had a miss here.

    There was a friend former employee that was visiting. All the wait staff, bartender & kitchen staff was more interested in chatting with her than serving the customers.
