What’s in the name you ask? We don’t really know, other than the fact that it has a good ring to it.

Nothing really about this place makes much sense. Are we a butcher shop or a restaurant? Are we a butcher shop inside of a restaurant? Or a restaurant inside of a butcher shop?

In our spare time we like to build fires and cook food over wood, you can hire us to do that. We make all of our own charcuterie in house, and we’re determined to get better at that everyday.

How do two concepts operate together in harmony? We don’t really know yet, but we will work at it ‘til it’s seamless. One thing we do know, all of the meat served and sold between these four walls is strictly derived from whole animals butchered in-house, sourced from happy places.

    We were so excited to finally visit and I think it definitely lived up to the hype!! Such a cool concept picking out your steaks, charcuterie was amazing too. Service staff were always on too of everything and our sever Erin was very thoughtful and attentive! Highly recommend

    Excellent food and service. Our drinks did not arrive in a timely fashion and the server, very kindly deducted the cost of them from the bill, without any discussion or complaint from us. We will be back for sure.

    Fat Rabbit is quite simply revolutionary for St. Catharines. Share a nice cut of meat and some small plates. Take advantage of their excellent wine list. Have a great time.

    Food took a bit longer than expected but was absolutely delicious. Service was excellent, would definitely dine again and recommend

    The unique, layered flavours exceed expectations every time. The Chef and crew out did themselves tonight. Ingredients that I may otherwise shy away from come together under the expertise of owners/chefs, sous-chef Gareth Burkholder and staff. Tonight’s favourite come from the Raw bar including BC muscles. Southern Ontario specialties are prepared and elevated with expertise, flavours knocking it out of the park!

    It was fairly expensive for what it was. T he kitchen looked disorderly and chaotic which was probably why our order took 1.5 hrs to come out. When the food did arrive, the meat, which was ordered Medium, was poorly cooked. It was overcooked on the outside while rare in the middle, not what you want for a $100 piece of meat. The best item we had was the squash which had a bit of everything in terms of flavor and texture.
