   Was looking so forward to supporting local and trying for the first time. Was very disappointed of quality of food. I had the chicken sandwich. Chicken breast was Was very dry over cooked and flavourless Bun was old and dry. Side of fries were frozen shoestring fries and the quantity was bad. Plate appeared empty when I received it. For 28.95 I felt ripped off. A teen burger at A&W would have been cheaper and tastier. Very disappointed. Our server was great however we stood at the reception for over 5 minutes waiting for the server to come get us, seen it with many guests after us. Maybe a host would be better.

   Great service… perfect actually… was here last year, and it was even better this year… cheesecake dessert was the winner this year… it would be stellar if they made that jar bigger! Hmmm

   Reservation for the four of us to enjoy supper on Friday evening. This was definitely a good decision as it started filling up quickly. We were seated on arrival and our waitress was cheerful. They gave us information on specials and the day’s catch. Even with the restaurant filling up they were on-top of our orders/drinks and not too overbearing. A couple apps and everyone enjoyed their chosen dishes. Had some left overs to pack out. Everything was very flavourful!

   We had the ateak and ahi tuna bowl (special) which were both excellent. The gyoza hippie dumplings were a bit over cooked. The rest of the food was great. Prices were high for appies but reasonable for main courses. Service was impeccable, among the best we’ve ever had. We’d definitely go back.

   We’ve been here many times before the fires. New chef, quality has definitely gone down. Steak was tough all the way through. Looked boiled and then seared and tasted as such. Burger was dry and even the meatloaf (which used to be the best I’ve ever had) was dry and tasteless. Server was decent but did have a couple long waits and it wasn’t busy. Don’t think we will come back

   Hey Megan, Thanks for the feedback. Our Chef lost his home in the fire and was unable to return to Jasper. We have an amazing crew of hardworking, talented people who have stepped up, all of which were here before the fire. The “steak” you ordered was a steak sandwich feature and was discounted 50% when you complained about it. The kids burger that was ordered is a 4oz patty and pickles on a bun with the condiments served on the side (because kids are picky) so I could see how you found it dry if you didn’t add anything to it. The meatloaf recipe is the same as it’s always been, I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy it. Sincerely, The Evil Dave’s Crew - who has been working really hard despite immeasurable personal losses and a very difficult 7 months

    I haven't been in over a decade. I was saddened to hear they changed owners, and lost the down town location. This "New version" is underwhelming. The last location was classy but informal, it had an amazing ambiance and the location was perfect to attract tourism. Unfortunate they took a place like evil Dave's and turned it into a Montana's like feel... They kept some of the old menu which was great cause if not for the meatloaf and cowboy sushi, evil Dave's wouldn't live up to its ancestor. Service is good, drinks are meh. Meatloaf is to die for.

    Danny, same owners here, small family business for the last 17 years. Sadly during Covid we were unable to secure a lease in our old location that was favourable for our business moving forward. The new location was labour of love. We worked hard to provide a new updated feel for a fresh start.
