   We loved our first experience at Ella's and can't wait to return. The food and cocktails were delicious, beautifully presented, and robust portions. Our server, Chris, was knowledgeable about the menu and genuinely seemed so happy to be there. We appreciated that the GM came to check in on us when we got our first few bites. Such a great discovery!

   The bartender was great. The hostess asked us to wait at the bar for 10 minutes, then forgot about us. I had to remind her we were past our reservation. The server was quick to start, but then drinks took 15 minutes. I can only assume she forgot as we watched them sitting on the bar for over 10 minutes. Three out of four dishes were decent. While I was talked into the finest dish (veal). It was horribly over cooked, had no flavor, and impossible to eat. After everyone else at the table finished eating. The manager finally stopped by and asked if I wanted another....He did apologize and removed it from my check. I don't recommend this place.

We were a bit confused as our Open Table records show your group arrived at 7:20 for your 7:30 reservation and were seated at 7:33 with cocktails from the bar. When you mentioned your dissatisfaction with the veal, your server promptly offered a replacement before our manager stepped in. We always strive to provide excellent food and service, and we’re genuinely disappointed we didn’t meet those standards during your visit.    The restaurant was elegant and clean. For an Italian restaurant I felt the menu was limited in variety. The food was good not great. The entrees lacked flavor, both dishes we ordered were somewhat bland, they had spice but just not a lot of flavor in our opinion. The service was really good. In my opinion, it was pretty standard food for what you would expect to receive from a hotel restaurant.

   Bland, overpriced food. Rude, arrogant manager. I won’t be back. I’m so disappointed this was the place I chose for my birthday dinner.

   Dear Gabriela, We sincerely apologize for your experience during your birthday celebration at Ella’s. We truly apologize that it left a negative impression on your special day. To clarify, like many mid to high-end restaurants, we do charge a small cake-cutting fee of $3 per person, which helps cover the cost of providing plates, utensils, the time spent serving the cake, and the extended stay. When you mentioned not wanting to pay the fee, we offered to cut the cake for you at no charge as our way of making some amends for your disappointment, but we understand you chose to serve it yourself.    First time in Nashville….Very nice decor and great feel to the place. Bar area was quite noisy and busy, just like a bar should be. Great service, attentive staff. Food was good, not great, Especially given the prices!!

   Way over priced. We waited over 40 min for food (2 salads, burger and pasta) and only 2 other tables in restaurant. Unacceptable. Service almost non existent no explanation on delay. Ordered chicken for salad and it was served on the bone and dry. Tons of restaurants in DT and will not be giving you our business again. Shame as it was a holiday lunch for our vendors.

    Our server Matt was wonderful!!! We had made reservations which required a credit card and if you cancelled 1 day prior you would be charged 25.00 pp. I hadn’t read too many reviews but a few hours before our reservation I started reading them and by then it was too late to cancel. We decided to ordered the 3 appetizers with the better reviews: the mozzarella, shrimp and meatballs which came out all at the same time..The shrimp was luke warm lacking salt. The meatballs hot were good. The mozzarella was the best and had the best cheese pull. The 8 hr ragu was initially good but in the end it was too much having the mozarella, meatballs and chicken parm with the same thick & heavy ragu which needed more sweetness. Even though the reviews for the chicken parm weren’t great, we wanted to give it a shot. We really wanted to enjoy the chicken parm, however, like the other reviews the chicken was not crispy because it was drenched in the ragu. The pasta was homemade but that sauce was so overpowering. We took the first few bites of the chicken parm and it was soggy…we didn’t finish the rest or take it home. Matt was very attentive and we did not complain to him about the food. Unfortunately, we won’t be back unless we wanted just the mozzarella sticks.
