   I have visited this location several times because it's close to our home. We went for Valentine's Day last night and made an Open Table reservation in advance. We arrived at 7:30pm (our reservation time) and checked in, the host let us know we would be seated shortly. Twenty minutes passed, and I checked with the host and was told I would be seen again shortly. Another 15 minutes went by, and finally, we were told we were the next party with a reservation to be seated. Our reservation was at 7:30pm, and we were seated at 8:25pm. I like El Torito for the ambiance, food, and drinks; the waiters are always accommodating. The front staff and management had difficulty with the number of walk-ins and reservations.

   Went for Sunday Brunch RESERVATIONS RECoMMEDED. There were a lot of people outside waiting to be seated I had a reservation for 2 and was seated right away. The restaurant was VERY crowded and Noisy. There were plenty of stations opened around the restaurant with different selections to choose from. the food was good there were enchiladas, rellenos, soups, salads deserts, and much more to choose from. there was a taco area also. Like I mentioned it was very crowded if you do not like crowds then I would go elsewhere. I think when they closed the Westminster store the people came to the next closest El Torito Cypress. At Westminster they had a courtyard where all the food was displayed at Cypress it was in the entry way in the restaurant in the bar area. There is outside seating available if you want. will I come back Maybe. Remember to make a reservation

   Good food at a great price in a welcoming atmosphere. We shared the family fajita platter and everyone loved it. The chicken tortilla soup was also outstanding.

   Gloria was a fantastic waitress! She was very attentive and even recognized my birthday by bringing me a little square of carrot cake and singing for me. The food is always good too, it’s one of my favorite places to eat.

   We had a very good time on Christmas Day. We were glad we made reservations mid-afternoon. Food was good along with the service. When we left there was a long line of people waiting to be seated.

   This was Christmas day so the restaurant was fairly busy and noisy. We came after the 9 am to 2 pm brunch had ended but the wait staff was still very busy. We did not get silverware and napkins until we asked for it when the food was served. Service was just OK since they seemed to be a little understaffed. The food was very good but food was not hot but just warm and the refried beans were very tasty but lukewarm. However, since there are hardly any other restaurants open on Christmas day, this was still a very good experience for the family.

   Our family of 10 had a reservation for 10:45 on 12/24, but when we arrived, we learned the restaurant didn't open until 11 am. Our server was Mario M. He kept trying to sell us alcohol. 3 of us had the house margaritas ($9.75), which were not very good, IMO. I asked the age & price for the "kids" buffet and told him our 2 twin granddaughters were 12. He snapped back, "they're adults!" No charge for our 1 year old granddaughter. Buffet was $16.95 each and food was good (not great) but very few options to choose from. We also ordered a soup to-go ($9.25) for our S-I-L, who stayed home sick. When I received the bill, I asked Mario what the $7.90 surcharge was for and he snapped back with attitude that "it was for the use of the table, like when we go to the store, we have to pay for bags!" Normally, I'm a very generous tipper (retired Food & Bev trainer for Disney) but only tipped 10% (cash). We barely saw him & dirty plates stacked up, and we had to ask for napkins & water refills. The restaurant was NOT busy. Don't think we'll be back.
