We were there for the prix fixe xmas eve menu. The setting was warm and cozy, with a wood fire that was well-stoked throughout the evening. The wait staff was friendly and relaxed, but could use a bit more polish for the price for the food. There was no wine or alcohol available, which was a definite negative. The food was inconsistent in quality. One of our group loved the fish entree, but others felt the rib eye was below par. Overall, it was not unpleasant, but nothing to rave about.

They had no license to serve alcohol, that was a let down. I felt sorry for the staff. They were constantly explaining they could not serve alcohol, then when people were paying there was a $8 charge for using a credit card. Food was good. Relaxed atmosphere.

Had Christmas Eve dinner here, small portions on the set menu, left feeling not full despite the $120 per person bill. On the bright side the flavor of the food was very good.

The restaurant had a prix fix menu with no vegetarian options. Our group of 5 were seated not in the restaurant but in a hallway over the hotel lobby that was cold, noisy, and people coming to the restaurant had to squeeze past us to get into the restaurant. We wore our coats during dinner. Their liquor license was not operational so there was no alcohol. Service was also poor; we had to ask for silverware after being served so our food was often lukewarm at best. Desserts were only cream based and they did scrounge up some fruit for my daughter who also had to eat two appetizers as a main course. For this, I had to oay $95 a person though they did reduce the price of my daughter’s meal. I was tempted to call Amex to ask for a stop payment. This restaurant does not deserve the rating it has on your site. There are no excuses for food, service, and ambience this poor.

We walked a few blocks from our hotel at night. Our wonderful server named Sean helped us get there over the phone! He stayed on the phone until we arrived & he even waited for me to get the car, to walk my dear elderly friend right to the car from the restaurant upstairs!! Best service I’ve ever had!!

Wonderful dinner (inside Hotel Chimayo de Santa Fe) in a nice, quiet and calm spot. I liked that the ingredients were fresh and farm to table style. Try out their specials and goat milk flan!

El Rincón Café (previously Estevans) might have a new name but retains the authentic charm and flavors we know and love. The calamari is the best we've ever had. Also, don't miss out on the Carne Adobada Ravioli. The Shepherd's Lamb Shank Stew is not only great for this cold weather but the flavors are unmatched. So decadent and the lamb was cooked beautifully. Don't skip dessert. The flan and almond cake were absolute perfection. Our server Zach and the support staff were top notch. He was very knowledgable, accommodating and attentive. If you are looking for a bona-fide and elevated new Mexican culinary experience with above and beyond service, El Rincón Café is a no-brainer.
