Nestled high above LoHi on the fifth floor of 2930 Umatilla, El Five boasts spectacular, unobstructed views of the downtown Denver skyline. The menu is an homage to the Mediterranean and features small plates built on bold flavors found throughout the region: Spain, North Africa, the Middle East.

Inside, the space is understated and sensual, flanked by a large, open-air patio for sun-kissed Colorado nights. As the newest restaurant in the Edible Beats family, El Five celebrates the confluence of flavors, ideas and geographies made possible by a subtle shift in perspective.

I wish we went at another time. Just way too busy with the Valentine’s rush and majority of the food was cold and it did affect how much we enjoyed our meal. It’s very pretty, highly recommend the Zombie drink, it’s a two drink max, each $19.

Overall great food and ambiance. Service was a little slow. Food is very good but also rich and unique so with tapas style dining there was bound to be some flavors we didn't like but that doesn't necessarily mean anything was bad. This place always has delicious, well presented food and a location, ambiance and view that can't be beat.

Got sat on the side with a poor view. Good amounts were very small for amount paid. Service was very slow and overall a bad deal.

I booked 2 months in advance right when it opened, and a valentines day limited menu was not listed at the time. I never got a notification that this was the case and that you could only order from the severely limited and overpriced menu ($125 per person, when it should’ve been less than $80/pp based on the menu options, downsized items, and how much they normally cost - it didn’t even include a drink so paid $20 on top of this!). There was nothing special or valentines-day themed about the menu to make it worth that price, and we couldn’t order any of our favorite dishes off of the regular menu that we specifically made the reservation for to try with our friends visiting us from out of town. If you are going to significantly uptick the price for a “special” menu, please actually make it special and worth the actual price you are charging. Very disappointed.

The food at El Five is consistently delicious. The service is questionable. Our waiter was very awkward to interact with and he lacked common knowledge regarding meal preferences, for example, he wasn’t aware a steak could be cooked differently. The host greeting guests before they go up the elevator was rude and pretentious.

El Five has a very eclectic menu, mostly Mediterranean or Middle Eastern. The dishes are very creative, typically fusing traditional dishes with modern innovations or different cultures entirely. We very much enjoyed most of the dishes. However, several had so much salt added that they were not as enjoyable as they could have been. We ordered two fish dishes. The Monkfish was way over cooked. The Sea Bass had a spicy crust that so overpowered the dish that you couldn't taste the fish. These need to be improved. Service was great, very attentive and responsive. Overall, a good experience with a few areas for improvement.

Unos platitos exquisitos de verdadera gastronomía española, las croquetas de bacalao estaban riquísimas, y la seefood paella ni hablar, para chuparse los dedos! Volvería sin duda alguna

Everything was good overall. A few dishes were overcooked (shrimp and rib). Food came out quick. Took a little bit to get our 2nd round of drinks. It was busy per the usual. Great view of city.
