The excitement of El Taller is the ever changing menu. Although some may like the same dish over and over, being able to see what chef is thinking to cook upstairs or try things that chef loved so much he brought then downstairs. It is more exciting than seasonal menu changes as this menu reflects the art of cooking.

Exciting evening at El Taller. I really enjoy the a la carte options. I really enjoyed the Fideua Seafood Paella, and they even have cheese cart service! I can't wait to come back.

What a fun neighborhood find. Paella from the pan is always a treat! Ingredients were top astounding and seeing the ham leg shaved was a ton of fun.

I had a great time at El Taller del Xiquet, great food, great wines and even better service. We had a few appetizers and one of the most beautiful paella we ever had. We finished with a spectacular cheese plate (mostly from Spain). We will come back to keep thinking we are in Spain....

Good food, great service, just very overpriced given the quality and the portion sizes.

Food was excellent, but service quite bad, making for a disappointing experience. We arrived on time for our reservation, but waited 33 mins to be seated. The team didn’t seem to do anything about it or acknowledge our wait until I asked, 27 mins in… We were then seated, and food was good, salpicon and paella de Lalbufera were excellent. However, when we were going to order dessert, we were rushed out and told they wanted to move us upstairs to give us the “whole experience”. The impression we got was they needed the table downstairs free. They have a space upstairs where they serve drinks and bring you the check. The waitress was however confused that we hadn’t had dessert and wanted to order it, but, after going to ask, came back and took our order. We then had dessert - which was really good- but the coffees we had ordered never arrived and the check was brought. Overall good food, but they really do not have their logistics down yet, and the lack of acknowledgment of issue after issue made it frustrating.

Our server was extremely unprofessional. He was rushed and rude. Any question about the plates was met with an incomplete response and with a terrible attitude (as if him answering was a favor in his view). He took away the menus and recommended we do some plates in the prix fixe menu without disclosing they came at an extra charge (we found out with the check). Overall the experience was deplorable. Its a pity as we had been looking forward to go to Xiquet. The food was good but not amazing. One of the biggest let downs as far as restaurants in DC go.

Excellent food just like Xiquet! We love the seafood Fideuá the most. The carrot cake dessert was full of surprise, every bite gives you a different texture and flavor. Service is exceptional, staff are very attentive. It was a perfect dinner experience.
