For well over a century, Durgin-Park has catered to the hearty appetites of straw-hatted, white-aproned market men and local characters. Today it hosts visiting celebrities, business men and women, students, and tourists from every part of the globe. While the origin of Durgin-Park goes back to Revolutionary days, the era of fame for its chowders, Indian puddings, apple pan dowdy, johnny cake, and New England boiled dinners started some 130 years ago when John Durgin, in partnership with Eldridge Park, a livery man, and John G. Chandler, a dry goods merchant, took over. The theme followed to this day was decided upon then by these old Yankees, that the best advertising is plenty of food on the table.

We had a great time at Durgin Park celebrating my birthday. The food was great and the atmosphere was festive at Christmas time. Our waitress, Laura, took great care of us. She was attentive, happy, and very entertaining. Laura made our night a memorable one! Will definitely go back and would recommend it to anyone -- ask for Laura!

We waited about 20 minutes for a server to come take our drink order. Then we put in an appetizer order and told the server we wanted to wait to put in our entree order. We felt like we were being rushed through our meal so that he could make more tips. We spoke at the beginning of the order about kids meals being free but we’re charged for them when the bill came. The food was good but not as good as you would expect for the high price point.

Our waitress has worked there for over 30 years and was a delight, despite she was running her butt off! Great meal, good service, customer friendly

The turkey dinner was outstanding. Lots of mashed potatoes and stuffing and squash with delicious gravy and a Hugh portion of turkey meat.

I hadn't eaten at Durgin Park for many years, and my wife had never done so. It was quite a bit like my first experience there some 40 years ago, although the menu seems a bit more interesting than I remember from before. We had a good meal for a fair price, with a little nostalgia on the side. Better than any casual-style chain restaurant I know.

This has to have been the worst restaurant I have ever visited in the states. It says they have the best prime rib ever. One of our party had it and said it was the toughest prime rib he had ever tasted .

First time at Durgin Park - have always wanted to go there. Was not disappointed. Classic American-style seafood and comfort food very nicely done. Friendly family-style Boston atmosphere. There were 9 of us for a Sunday lunch. Service was great, good beer. We loved it. Definitely worthwhile visiting this historic Boston restaurant.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving meal with fresh seafood ( as we are not turkey fans!). The restaurant was nice and quiet.
