Dolce Italia was established in 2010 by Tiziana Di Costanzo who came from Ischia, an island in the Gulf of Naples. Using a combination of classic Italian dishes, family recipes passed down for generations, and warm hospitality, Dolce Italia has built a reputation in Sarasota as a destination for anyone seeking great food and ambiance. In 2015 Matthew joined as manager of the front of house and is now a managing partner of Dolce Italia. The kitchen staff trained by Tiziana from the beginning are still with the restaurant with Maria being the capocuoco.
Some of the specialities Dolce Italia has become famous for are the Napoletan Eggplant- a tender sautee eggplant with fresh tomatoes crowned with ricotte, the Trenne Dolce Italia- the signature pasta dish with creamy tomato sauce, fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and mushroom.

Had amazing dinner. Had the eggplant special and the sauce was the best I’ve ever tasted. Still thinking about it today. Very small space but it is a must to go too.

I stopped looking for a “favorite” Italian restaurant after I came here. It’s cozy, friendly and serves consistently great dishes. The Trenne Pasta dish is pure comfort food but their Daily Specials board and menu offer other excellent choices. The fish and seafood dishes are also excellent . Just save room for the Limoncello cake—it’s worth the calories!

Great food and service. Glad we went early once a full house a little tight and loud but overall lovely ambience. Limoncello torte was a special treat.

This was our second time here. This time we brought a table of friends with us. What a fabulous experience. They absolutely loved it. The service is absolutely fantastic. The food is fantastic. You feel at home and welcomed. We will be back again!
