Dolce Italia was established in 2010 by Tiziana Di Costanzo who came from Ischia, an island in the Gulf of Naples. Using a combination of classic Italian dishes, family recipes passed down for generations, and warm hospitality, Dolce Italia has built a reputation in Sarasota as a destination for anyone seeking great food and ambiance. In 2015 Matthew joined as manager of the front of house and is now a managing partner of Dolce Italia. The kitchen staff trained by Tiziana from the beginning are still with the restaurant with Maria being the capocuoco.
Some of the specialities Dolce Italia has become famous for are the Napoletan Eggplant- a tender sautee eggplant with fresh tomatoes crowned with ricotte, the Trenne Dolce Italia- the signature pasta dish with creamy tomato sauce, fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and mushroom.

    Great food and service. Glad we went early once a full house a little tight and loud but overall lovely ambience. Limoncello torte was a special treat.

    This was our second time here. This time we brought a table of friends with us. What a fabulous experience. They absolutely loved it. The service is absolutely fantastic. The food is fantastic. You feel at home and welcomed. We will be back again!

    Elite- it’s that’s simple- elite food, elite service, elite experience. Simply said, elite! Matt and team are the best in Florida. The Trenne Dolce Italia, the Nutella Gelato, the bottle of Sangiovese, everything was… you guessed it… elite! Thanks again Matt!

    Dolce Italia never disappoints ‼️ I had the parpadelle special made in a pomdoro sauce with sausage and eggplant purée. It was delicious. Matthew’s wine recommendation was excellent. Patrick’s service was fantastic. I love this place and enjoy bringing guests. I highly recommend.

    Dolce Italia is the best Italian restaurant in Sarasota. The food is outstanding especially the pasta. The service is very attentive. We brought friends from up north and they thought it was the best Italian food they have ever had.

    Amazing place that we always go to on special occasions...food..service and atmosphere is outstanding....easy to park and always a excellent enjoyable experience....a top 5 in Sarasota for sure.....can't wait till my wife's birthday and out next visit....alos very reasonable on prices for this 5 star level of restaurant
