   This was my second visit to Dean’s and we visited for New Year’s Eve. Our experience at the beginning of the night was excellent and Nico was very accommodating and entertaining. Our oysters and shrimp cocktail were great but we ended up waiting over an hour for our steaks to arrive from the time we placed our order. Nico apologized and said that there was a mix up in the kitchen and another tables meal was prepared first? The long wait for our order soured the experience and left us rushing to get the check before midnight, which was unexpected for a reservation that had us seated at 9:15PM. There was no clear explanation for what happened and no compensation was provided for the inconvenience.

   Waitstaff were very friendly, but couldn’t decide on who was/wasn’t our servers. Drinks took very long to come to our table and there were literally only two other sets of people in the restaurant (went at 3pm).Otherwise, food was good and I’ll be back for the seafood plateau…delish!

   I have been to this restaurant sister restaurant in Austin. And it was outstanding, but this one which is steak and seafood is particularly worth trying. I have never splurged on a A5 Wagyu steak but they have a small plate appetizer that is 2 ounces thinly sliced about a dozen pieces That you could cook on a hot stone provided with chimichurri and two types of Himalayan sea salt and some delicious thinly sliced cucumbers. This was one of the best and most unique dishes I have had. My wife had the eight ounce filet perfectly crusty on the outside and deliciously tender inside. Wonderful service, and excellent wine by the glass selections.

   Victoria was a delight, she was attentive, knowledgeable and provided endless recommendations and pairings. She’s communicated very well when orders were behind. I would return just for the service Victoria provided.

   We sat in the globe outside! It was thoughtfully appointed with. Christmas tree, guitar and radio. Food was great! We did have a visit from Bruno, the baby possum. It sounds like a bad thing, but he was cute and it is part of eating outside!

   The food was decent, and the environment/ staff was nice. From start to finish, we were there for 4 hours because of the delayed service. Our first round of drinks took almost 30 minutes to receive and the cocktails had melted ice in them by then. Everything was just done very slowly, even settling the check. Not my favorite steakhouse in town.

   Food was mediocre, way too expensive. Service was terrible from valet to after dinner drinks at the Study. I would NEVER go back again. Better service and food at plenty of other restaurants to include Clementine, Tardifs, Mixtli, and even Supper. I can't express how disappointed I was in the food and service after hearing so many good things. Apparently my friends have no taste and are accustomed to poor service.

    Our waiters David and Olin were great . The food was good not great . They brought out our entrees before our appetizers and salads and I had to send everything back and restart the entire meal . So that was a turn off . Plus having to pay for parking was terrible . It should be free with eating there .
