David Burke Tavern is a modern American restaurant by award-winning Celebrity Chef David Burke. Situated on the first two stories of a stately townhouse on New York City’s Upper East Side, the restaurant showcases Burke’s creative and contemporary approach to classic fare – often with showstopping presentations. Signature dishes highlight seafood, steakhouse staples and beyond, including Lobster Dumplings with spicy tomato, Crab Cake Pretzel Raft, Tavern Cheeseburger, and Burke’s famous “Clothesline” Maple & Black Pepper Candied Bacon, plus a full SUSHI MENU. David Burke Tavern offers dinner, bar and lounge menus, as well as multiple private dining spaces including the intimate Himalayan Salt Room lined with pink sea salt bricks. Private dining spaces can accommodate anywhere from 10-100 guests, with options to reserve floors and the full restaurant.

A great place for lunch where you are not rushed and can have a serious conversation (or not!). Food is solid and so is the service.

We have been here many times but may not return. To start I ordered a bourbon old fashion and it was not made correctly. The featured steak frittes was not the quality expected. The featured pheasant was exactly like roast chicken. Could not tell the difference. All in all a disappointment.

Ordered the scallops. One had gone off. I pointed it out and they offered a new plate but by then I couldn’t eat more of it. You know how it is when something tastes not ok- you’re just off that dish. So I left the rest on the plate. Would have been nice if they’d bought us a glass of wine. Service was good but a much ‘hovering’.

We waited 15min before server approached our table. The guy handling the water 💧 was a better server. I suggest you train him and then promote him. The check was screwed up Items on our check we did not order. Lastly, martinis are over priced
