We had a nice meal at Dalfaber. The food was good but the service was slow. The staff tried their best and said it was busy, but the restaurant was anything but full.

Cold venue, cold plate, cold food. Long wait for order to be taken and food to be served. Disappointing to say the least least!

An okay meal, nothing special. Main courses all adequate but veggie burger looked and tasted like out of the freezer, not what you pay£18 for. Venison stew was nice but not a lot of meat for the price either. Apple crumble was disappointing, looked and tasted more like breadcrumbs than crumble

Entered the venue on 2 occasions, no one was at the bar or restaurant to serve, there were no other customers at the bar or restaurant so left without eating, very poor experience and what does an empty venue at 1.30pm on a Sunday tell you about the place?

The restaurant was a 10 minute walk from the centre of town, but definitely worth it. We had a choice of eating in the dining room or in the bar, it was the same menu. There was a family atmosphere in the bar with young children wandering about. The dining room was spacious, a lovely gas fire created a warm, relaxed atmosphere. No background music made conversation easy. Starters were beautifully presented and delicious. Main courses were substantial and delicious. I don't know what coffee they served, but it's the best I've tasted for a while. Having considered most of the menus in town I don't think there's much to choose between them as far as prices are concerned. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The food was fine enough but I didn’t feel it was the standard of other Macdonald restaurants I have eaten in. Waited around 5 minutes to be acknowledged on arrival. Chunky chips on the menu arrived as skinny fries without explanation. Rioja was sold out. The noise from the bar was loud from the children’s karaoke that was happening during our dinner. 8.30pm Perhaps closing the doors would have helped. I would be happy to join in if I was in the bar but I was at the far end of the restaurant having a family dinner. Overall average, I would choose to go somewhere else if visiting again.
