When visiting the restaurant, patrons descend 18 feet underground in a canopied glass elevator, accessed from street level, for a culinary experience unlike any other. The American Steakhouse offers an expansive 1,800 square foot subterranean courtyard allowing patrons to dine al fresco and enjoy a New Orleans-inspired exterior space. This cool oasis is complete with a 20 foot, 5-tiered granite water wall, multi-tiered landscaping, lava rock fire pit, and black granite bar. Dakota's below-ground patio has long been considered one of the city's most romantic dining spots.

We believe the best steaks come from the best cut and quality. That’s why we get all of our beef fresh from renowned beef purveyors, Allen Brothers. Each cut is corn and grain fed USDA Prime steak that our chef handpicks. Each steak is aged for a minimum of 28 days for a perfectly tender, juicy bite every time.

Went for New Years Eve. At $165 a person, I didn’t feel like it was worth the price. I had the Australian Waygu ribeye. If I would have known that the steak was going to come out drenched in some brown gravy like sauce, I certainly would have gotten something else. The Wife enjoyed her Surf and Turf. Service was lackluster. This is my 2nd time visiting Dakotas and the first time was terrific. I’ll give them another shot perhaps in the future.

New Year’s Eve at Dakotas was awesome. I introduced a couple it was there first experience there. The limited specialty menu . Was great but I had bragged about my favorite dish and it wasn’t on the menu for them to try. We had a great night. Food was on point the attentive staff, always great. And the scallops risotto and porter house, legendary!!!

Wonderful NYE dinner, beautifully decorated for the holiday. We got great photos taken by the staff that was positioned to do so for everyone. The food was perfect! Great wine recommendation as well. We were disappointed that we were seated on the patio. Seemed that bigger parties dined in the main areas. However, they did try to make the patio as lovely as possible.

Our New Year’s Eve dinner was awesome . The service was exceptional ( Henry) . He was very attentive & shared history about the restuarant with us . The food was cooked to our request & delicious. A great time with long time friends . We’ll be back .

We went for NYE with a group of 10. Most steaks were overcooked but they did offer to bring new ones after one person complained and did quickly. Service and atmosphere was excellent! We have eaten there several times before and was amazing. Just a little disappointed with NYE menu for the price per person.

It was a perfect New Year’s Eve. Kayla took great care of us at the bar love bringing in the new year with her every year. Look forward to the next time coming in to hang out with Kayla.
