Da Emma is a hidden Italian gem located right in downtown Montreal. Since the restaurant itself is located below street level, many people pass by this little trattoria every day without realizing it. The only sign for it is painted on a nearby brick wall in black and white and consists entirely of a downward pointing arrow and the word "Emma". It is because it is a little hard to find that diners feel like they are in on a secret not everyone knows about.Inside, Da Emma goes with a sleek and modern style complete with dark wood tones and white tablecloths. The menu consists of both classic and modern Italian plates. Some of the intricate plates that the kitchen puts out include fettucini with porcini mushroom and truffle, veal breast in rosemary sauce, four cheese tortellini in alfredo sauce and house made meatballs in marinara.

We are so happy that we were referred to this beautiful restaurant, where the food, service and environment are all top-notch. Franco who look after us is an absolute gem of a man..thank you Franco for making our experience so fun. Attentive without hovering over us, the whole evening is definitely one for the memory book.

The food was fantastic! Service was friendly and beyond reproach. A parking lot in Old Montreal is a definite plus. We will be back.

Food was excellent. We took Carne big shunk of meat , steak, raviolis cheeseplus some very good deserts. The service was ok, we asked for bread to be heated and server told us this how they serve bread at Da Emma cold and this is how italians eat it. I have been iin other italian restaurants they serve bread warm. Service tip in the machine was starting at 18% not 15%. But foid was so good i forgot about the errors during the service Thank you
