On a mission to share the beauty of Mexican culture through food, Chef Johnny Curiel opens Cozobi Fonda Fina as an encore to his beloved LoHi restaurant, Alma Fonda Fina. Named after Cozobi, the Zapotec god of corn, Cozobi Fonda Fina is rooted in Mexico’s centuries-old corn nixtamalization traditions and wood-fire cooking techniques that define its rich food history.

    Great service in a cozy ambience. Love the family style presentation. All the food is served with the wood fired stove so the restaurant has a smoky aroma. The sweet potato appetizer is a must and we enjoyed the avocado margarita. The dishes are a little spicy, we we love but some may not.

    Our waiter, Sam, was excellent, knowledgeable & fun. The food was delicious and creative. It’s the best restaurant to come to Boulder in a long time. Bravo!

    Best food I’ve in a long time, no wonder it’s hard to get a reservation during dinner hours! we have the smashed avocado, the sweet potato, the rib eye tacos and the mole carnitas taco, everything was a 10. Our waitress was fun and very well versed in the menu.

    The highest quality Mexican food you can find in Boulder, period. I dare say better than Alma FF. Excellent

    Chef Chris was amazing! We got seats last minute at the chef’s counter and loved our time there. Food was outstanding, Chris spent time answering our questions and making sure food and drink was paced well, and atmosphere was perfect! Looking forward to the next menu rotation to go back again. Thank you!
